Logistic Lab Support

The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a Logistic Lab Support to join the team in Leuven. In this diverse position, you have multiple responsibilities including inventory management, calibration of lab equipment, cleaning of lab equipment and much more. It’s your responsibility to make sure lab equipment is available so Analysts can put their focus on Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry. This role doesn’t require a scientific background. Maybe you are working in logistics, hospitality or retail but have an interest in science, this could be your opportunity to transition your career into the laboratory world

This is a full-time position based at our customer site, UCB, in Heverlee. You’ll receive a temporary contract of six months to start with, transferred into a permanent one after a positive evaluation. Working hours: Monday - Friday, flexible start time between 07:30 and - 9:00 and finish time as off 16:00

The team

In total you are part of a team of 17 associates, though you’ll work by yourself in Heverlee. You will be in close collaboration with the customer. This team is part of our department Lab and Product Services, which supports leading pharmaceutical companies and laboratories all over the world, in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry.

What we’re looking for
- Experience_:

- In a fast-paced environment is a great plus (e.g. production, industry, hospitality, logistics)
- Preferred qualifications:_
- Good skills with MS Office and fluent in picking up new software’s
- Fluent communication skills in English; good in French (Level B2)
- Customer oriented, outgoing, and independent
- Flexible, highly motivated and detail oriented

How you will thrive and create an impact
- Maintain stock levels by counting stock, placing orders and following up on them
- Receive incoming good, scan them, register them in the system and distribute to the right location to make sure lab equipment is available at all time
- Manage returned goods and check on damages
- Register data in the internal inventory IT-software, making sure information is up to date
- Maintain a clean lab environment by cleaning analytical lab equipment and benches
- Prepare solutions for Analysts and calibrate lab equipment
