Purchasing Manager Licensed

In this role, you’ll manage the entire purchasing process, from supplier selection and cost optimization to on-time delivery. You’ll work closely with product development, sales, and technical teams to bring successful collections to life.

**Job description**:

- **End-to-end purchasing management**: Take full ownership of the purchasing process for licensed and private label footwear - from supplier selection and cost engineering to order placement and on-time delivery.
- **Global factory sourcing**: Identify, assess, and onboard reliable footwear manufacturing partners, with a primary focus on China. Ensure alignment with capacity requirements, product segmentation, quality standards and cost efficiency.
- **Strategic material sourcing**: Oversee the sourcing of footwear-specific materials, prioritizing sustainability, regulatory compliance, technical feasibility and cost optimization.
- **Supplier network development**: Establish and maintain a robust, scalable supplier base segmented by product category and region. Conduct regular risk assessments, considering geopolitical factors, delivery performance and cost impact.
- **Contract negotiation & cost management**: Lead negotiations on purchasing terms and conditions, leveraging detailed cost breakdowns and market benchmarks to secure competitive pricing without compromising on quality or lead times.
- **Production capacity planning**:* Translate sales forecasts and seasonal demand into aligned production capacity plans. Ensure suppliers are adequately prepared to meet delivery schedules and peak periods.
- **Cross-functional product development**: Collaborate closely with product development, sales, technical teams and suppliers to bring innovative and commercially viable collections to market. Ensure a seamless transition from development to production.
- **Production oversight & quality assurance**: Monitor production timelines and coordinate with quality control teams to ensure compliance with technical specifications and brand standards. Proactively address any deviations or delays.
- **Compliance & sustainability governance**: Ensure all procurement and supply chain activities adhere to brand license agreements, corporate codes of conduct and sustainability objectives.

**Who are you?**:

- You have experience in purchasing processes, preferably in fast-moving consumer goods.
- You are a hands-on professional with a no-nonsense mindset.
- You are fluent in English and Dutch.
- You have a strong common sense, motivation and drive.
- You have communication and negotiation skills.
- You manage your time and priorities effectively.
- You approach challenges with a problem-solving mindset.
- You are willing to travel to China approximately 4 times a year.
- Experience in sourcing from the Far East is a plus, but not required.
