**The Sr. Accountant Retail will manage a set of accounting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies and external audits.**
**The Sr. Accountant Retail will report to and work closely with the Head of Financial Accounting and others in the organisation. Support will be expected mainly (but not limited) in supervision of the Shared Service Center, ensuring proper booking of all transactions. analysis and reconciliation of accounts, building of transparency, development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures and controls.**
**The Sr. Accountant Retail possesses a solid operational and technical accounting background and works proactively to drive results. She/he will be flexible, has a high level of integrity, will provide transparency on the financial performance, and will challenge status-quo.**
- **Statutory and tax**
- You ensure full compliance with applicable regulations and deadlines (Income tax, VAT, statutory).
- You are the first point of contact for internal and external audit queries.
- **Accounting**
- You manage the accounting daily operations of your entities in collaboration with the Shared Service Center
- You supervise monthly check on intercompanies
- You ensure timely and accurate update of accruals
- You supervise key accounts reconciliations, justification and documentation for all balance sheet accounts
- You perform monthly analytical reviews to ensure transparency on the full balance sheet
- You are responsible for the full coordination of the Shared Service Center activities, month-end closing, resulting in a timely and accurate reporting of actual results in line with group guidelines and deadlines
- You support the controlling department by providing ad-hoc analysis and documentation
- **Processes and Internal Control**
- You ensure compliance with the existing group accounting policies
- You ensure compliance with the ICS (Internal Control Standards) for all accounting activities
- You proactively identify and implement any remedies/improvements on procedures and internal controls to reinforce ICS compliance
**Profile**
- You have a higher degree in Accountancy and at least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role
- You have a sound understanding of general accounting procedures
- You are fluent in Dutch, French and English
- Strong knowledge of general accounting procedures
- Strong knowledge of tax accounting and mandatory reporting
- Strong knowledge of SAP and Excel
