Internship 2025-2026: Business Management Solutions

**SIMAC**is a player in the Belgian ICT market with a focus on 3 domains: Integration, Datacenter & Connectivity Solutions and Business Monitoring Solutions. Our 170 employees are based in our offices in Heverlee and Lummen.

**What you will do**

Several projects are continuously ongoing in our BMS department. During an internship, you can therefore gain hands-on experience in the following areas, among other things:

- _Building a customized CMDB platform_: due to our growth, we need to start setting up a CMDB platform that has all the needed information about the hardware we deploy and maintenance dates. The assignment is setting this up according to our requirements, also on security level and migrate the data towards this database which is now kept in different file structures.
- _Research into message integration possibilities of CDRs created on matrix layer and probing_: the data at service providers have been rising for several years, due to the increase in SIM cards, people and digital media. On the other side is the available budget at customers decreasing. To make monitoring of these networks possible in the best possible economical way we need to look for smart integrations between existing tools to make this possible. The assignment here is to do research if there is a way in our approach to improve our technical and commercial deployment.
- _Research on NetScout OMNIS/OCI capabilities_: NetScout is the world leader in network traffic visualization and analysis. Omnis OCI are software modules of NetScout that are focused on security and thread detection. The purpose of the internship is to discover what the modules all have to offer, how to set it up and how we can use it towards customers. Next to this also to make a competitor analysis of this software module.
- _Analyzing the options and possibilities with the use of AI to create intelligent monitoring_: within our BMS department, we use several software vendors, which have their own strengths and weaknesses in the world of monitoring. The assignment here is combining all these possibilities and study, with the use of several smart features like AI, how to come to a smart monitoring platform which makes use of all monitoring data sources in house (_g._ linking performance problems of a laptop accessing the WIFI to a specific hotspot problem,).
- _Research VoLTE communications/ RTP streams to explore the filling of data in the NetScout Kafka media topics_: the purpose of this assignment is to research the algorithms behind the data we send about 4G VoLTE towards these Big data platforms.
- _Developing a monitoring platform with open-source available software packages and develop a customized monitoring platform for mobile service providers:_ the assignment here is to scan the internet for open-source packages and build on top the needed software to make a monitoring solution for service providers.

The above topics are just some examples of possible internship assignments. Depending on ongoing projects and needs of our customers, other assignments are possible.
