Global Head of Internal Audit

The Head of Internal Audit will be directly reporting to the Audit Committee and CEO and is directly in contact with the BESIX senior management;
- The audit scope covers the whole BESIX Group. BESIX Group operates in Northern and Eastern Europe, North and Central Africa and the Middle East, as well as in Canada and Australia. 30% Travel required;
- Define the annual audit plan on projects, processes (including IT) and financial matters (so not only operational processes) and seek the Audit Committee approval. Prepare clear, concise, and timely audit reports together with team members.;
- Coordinate and undertake internal audit activities across the Group. Provide constructive recommendations focused on internal control as well as giving pragmatic recommendations to help the business achieve its objectives;
- Conduct follow-up reviews on all internal audit findings and document results. Assist in coordinating of overdue actions;
- Organize the Audit Committees (acting as secretary) and present the audit assignments results, follow-up status and yearly audit plan (and periodical re-prioritization);
- Develop and empower a high performing team composed of 3 FTEs in Brussels (including Head of Internal Audit) and 1 in Australia ;
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior management and business partners in the business and corporate functions across the whole group;

**Qualifications**:

- You have a Master degree in Accounting / Finance or similar domain;
- Minimum 10 years audit experience including 5 years in a supervisory role;
- Robust financial (external audit) and process audit skills;
- Good general IT literacy (including MS Office) and affinity with ICT;
- Fluency in Dutch, French and English (ability to interact with auditees necessary in view of the internal audit scope, reports are drafted in English);
- Experience with Internal Audit within construction is preferred;
- Internal Audit certification required (or strong commitment to acquire rapidly). External Audit certification is an asset;
- Strong interpersonal and communicational skills are necessary to achieve pragmatic solutions;
- You can deal with various cultural environment and adapt very quickly to situations;
- Open to travel when required (around 20%, fluctuating in function of the audit plan).
