Data Visualization Specialist

**Core Responsibilities**:

- Report, write, and program compelling, brand-aligned informational graphics and data visualizations that inform and engage readers — including interactives, static charts, visual essays and more — from concept through completion.
- Collaborate with teams across the Moody’s business to understand and support strategic, digitally focused, data-driven storytelling
- Work alongside Data Visualization team members to determine customer needs for data-focused stories and translate into quality graphics, optimized for desktop and mobile
- Proactively explore new and innovative visual approaches and techniques for data storytelling
- Work hand-in-hand with our social media team to ensure optimized content for social channels and strategies; partner with our design / brand production team for miscellaneous digital assets and support
- Commit to supporting a workplace of diversity, equity and inclusion
- 4-6 years’ relevant experience in data visualization, infographics, and interactive visual storytelling
- Associates, Bachelor’s, or equivalent degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Math, Research, or related area
- Expert knowledge of JavaScript (experience with React, jQuery are a plus) and Adobe Creative Cloud (emphasis on Illustrator and Photoshop)
- Strong knowledge of visualization tools such as D3 or other libraries, including Angular, Three.js, WebGL, and QGIS
- Experience analyzing data with code (Python, R, or Node)
- Experience working with dataviz tools, such as Datawrapper, Flourish, Power BI and Tableau
- Experience working with cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, Google, etc.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design in data visualization and interactivity
- Thorough understanding of current web standards, browser compatibility, HTML 5 and CSS design
- Clear understanding of content, conveying complex information in a way that readers can easily digest
- Exceptional multitasking, time management, and project management skills, with attention to stakeholder needs and high attention to detail
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Superb people skills with a proven track record of interacting with external agencies as well as internal stakeholders and senior leadership within cross-functional teams
