**The task**:
Key responsibilities include:

- Translating a (complex) business or IT problem into solution building blocks on the technology layer;
- Assisting other project stakeholders in capturing system requirements;
- Clearly understanding and documenting the boundaries (scope) of the system and the architecturally significant concerns (driving requirements);
- Defining and documenting the architecture by describing the architectural decisions and views that have been developed to address stakeholder concerns;
- Ensuring that applicable principles, policies, standards, and guidelines are applied;
- Checking - using the appropriate validation techniques - whether you made the right architectural decisions and trade-offs between competing needs;
- Reducing architecture-related risks and obtaining formal approval for the architecture;
- Providing guidance to the project during the architecture implementation. Responding to the need for architectural changes;
- Communicating the solution architecture to business and IT stakeholders;
- Collaborating with other solution architects and enterprise architects to reach a consistent architecture for DB Belgium;
- Assisting development and operational teams in solving problems in the technologies mentioned below.

**You have**:

- Minimum 7 years’ experience in the role of a technical solution architect, and a proven track record of at least 10 years in IT within a large organization;
- A degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience;
- Experience in modeling techniques using industry standard notations (UML, ArchiMate, etc.) and tools (Sparx EA)
- Experience with offshore development teams is an advantage;
- Experience within the Retail Banking and/or Investments industry is a major advantage;
- Proven technology skills (senior level) in these or similar technologies: Operating systems (Linux Redhat, AIX, IBM-I OS 7, and general IBM-I knowledge), PaaS (Redhat Openshift), Container-based deployment (Docker, Kubernetes), Application Containers (Tomcat, JBoss, Weblogic), Middleware (Tibco BusinessWorks, IBM MQ), Data Management (Oracle, MSSQL, Hadoop, DB2), Virtualization (VMware), GRID computing, Storage (NAS/SAN technology), Network (LANs, intranets, VPN technology, Leased Lines, Firewall and Filtering policies)
- Proven communication skills in both technical and business language;
- Fluent in English and French or Dutch.
