Power System Analyst

We are looking for a **Power System Analyst** to join our **Energy** department based in **Louvain-la-Neuve**.

As a **Power System Analyst**, you will work within our Energy team to deliver high-quality consultancy services. In particular, you will be involved in innovative and challenging advanced analytics projects for leading international actors of the Electricity markets (e.g. System operators and power exchanges) in which you will be developing use cases around power markets and/or grid operations. Such projects typically involve tasks related to data analysis, Python prototype building, simulation runs, and results analysis.

**What you’ll do**
- You will provide a hands-on contribution to our Grid and Market consulting projects for Transmission System Operators, being part of our internal projects teams of power market experts and energy data scientists
- You will develop Python prototypes, run simulations, analyze results, and extract key messages with the objective of assessing the added value of our innovative solutions for our customers
- You will leverage your Power system background to be at ease for discussing power systems topics with customers and colleagues, and for contributing to our Grid and Market consulting projects
- You will interact with our customers, being able to understand their needs and feedback, identifying the main improvement levers, and translating advanced analytics concepts into a business-oriented language (oral, slides, reports)
- You will build a strong relationship with our customers, ensuring strong customer satisfaction and contributing to the identification of cross-selling opportunities for N-SIDE Energy
- You may also be required to provide out-of-office support, on a rotation basis (incl. Bank holidays and week-end), to our clients for their daily usage of N-SIDE solutions. Such support would come with an additional remuneration and with specific training.

**About you**
- You hold a Master’s degree in Electrical engineering or Power System engineering. Alternatively, you hold a Master’s degree in Energy economics, or Mathematical engineering with a focus on power markets;
- You are a young graduate or have a maximum of 1-2 years years of experience
- You have fully professional proficiency in English
- You have good Python programming skills and are able to quickly develop Python prototypes to perform analyses for our customers
- You can explain technical concepts to non-technical users with a customer-focused mindset and a genuine desire to assist and support users.
- You have strong analytical skills, and are familiar with advanced analytics tools (e.g. machine learning, mathematical modeling, optimization)
- Knowledge of the Energy sector, in particular electricity markets and power systems operation, is a strong asset; as is willingness to develop and learn in the field of Energy markets and power systems.
- You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- You are customer-minded and results-driven
- You are curious, a team player, and proactive
