We are looking for a **Junior Data Scientist** to join our **Energy** department based in **Louvain-la-Neuve**.

As a **Junior Data Scientist**, you will be part of our Energy team. You will deliver machine learning-based software solutions and consultancy services. You will contribute to innovative and challenging advanced analytics projects for various European Transmission System operators, power exchanges, and possibly market participants, helping the different actors better address the complex challenges of the energy transition.

**What you’ll do**
- **You will provide hands-on contributions to analytical projects for various European Transmission System Operators, power exchanges, and possibly market participants, as part of our internal projects teams of power market experts and energy data scientists
- You will develop AI-based Python prototypes, maintain and improve production code, perform data engineering tasks (e.g. extract, transform, load), run simulations, analyze results, and extract key findings. While most projects will have a strong data science focus, you may also be exposed to other analytical techniques (e.g. optimization, power flow simulations) depending on business needs and priorities.
- You will communicate insights effectively by preparing reports, slides, and presentations for our customers that translate complex analytical findings into actionable business recommendations.
- You will engage with customers to understand their needs, gather feedback, and propose improvements and ideas while explaining advanced analytics concepts in a clear, and business-oriented manner.
- You will contribute to the maintenance, support, and continuous improvement of our in-house forecasting solution based on Machine Learning

**About you**
- You hold a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Energy Economics, or a related field, with a strong focus on Data Science.
- You are a young graduate or have a maximum of 1-2 years years of experience
- You have a solid foundation in machine learning and artificial intelligence, with a strong analytical mindset and a passion for the field
- You are proficient in Python and can efficiently develop prototypes to perform data-driven analyses.
- You can effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, demonstrating a customer-focused approach and a genuine enthusiasm for assisting users.
- You possess strong written and verbal communication skills and can clearly articulate insights and findings.
- You are customer-oriented, results-driven, and have a problem-solving mindset
- You are curious, proactive, and a strong team player, eager to collaborate and continuously learn.
- You are interested in expanding your knowledge of the energy sector, particularly in electricity markets and power system operations. While prior experience in the field is a plus, it is not required.
- You have fully professional proficiency in English
