Data Scientist at Proton Therapy Leader

- The Belgian, B-Corp certified company IBA has opened new ways to diagnose and fight cancer and is the global leader in the field of Proton Therapy, the most advanced technologies treatment against cancer.
The Advanced Analytics team at IBA focuses on using data to add value to the lives of our customers and colleagues. We value agility, ownership, and we are not afraid to challenge the status quo.

**Challenges we trust you with**
- We are looking for a data generalist whose focus is not only on data science, but who is able to drive a data project end-to-end.
- This includes helping our data engineers with extracting data and safeguarding its quality, as well as building, deploying, and monitoring AI models and visualizing the results.
- Finally, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to and shape our future data platform collaboratively with our enterprise architecture team.

**How will your first months look like?**
- First, you’ll get onboarded on our data infrastructure and get a better understanding of the tools we are using.
- Next, you’ll have a first deep dive in the data by contributing with our data engineers on our data lake and warehouse.
- In parallel, you’ll get introduced to your first data science challenge.

**What we value**

**Must-have**:

- At least 3 years of relevant experience
- Solid foundation in all steps of CRISP-DM, including data engineering concepts
- Professional programming skills (preferably in Python)
- Strong foundation in statistics and AI, through education or experience
- Proven experience in delivering AI projects
- Motivation to understand our business and integrate our domain knowledge
- Strong communicator that can describe complex topics in a simple way
- Fluent in English, French is a plus
- Passionate about data

**Nice to have**:

- Experience with timeseries and/or natural language and/or vision projects
- Experience with Databricks and Spark
- Experience with MLOps
- Experience with predictive maintenance
- Experience with a cloud provider
