The Lab Manager will join the Oncology Discovery team to facilitate advancing cutting-edge small molecules and biologics for the treatment of cancer. The position is open for temporary hiring for 1 year, with possibility to extend.
In this dual function, s/he will be responsible for acquiring and updating equipment, managing laboratory reagent stocks, and providing leadership in safety and training for staff to ensure efficient functioning of the laboratories. Familiarity with cell culture, basic cell/molecular biology and biochemical assays are required. Troubleshooting skills are essential.
**Primary responsibilities **(include, but are not limited to):
- Embedded Lab Operations liaison working as an integral member of oncology discovery team (~50 bench scientists)
- Acquisition, operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Ordering and managing lab supply stocks
- Laboratory space management
- Organizing shipping of biological and chemical agents
- Organizing training for laboratory staff
- Carry out duties as departmental safety officer
- Coordinating requests for routine profiling of compounds with external vendors
**Qualifications**:
- A Bachelor or Master degree or equivalent in laboratory science, biotechnology, biology, or similar; orequivalent experience in industry/lab/academic setting
- Strong focus on processes and compliance
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage several projects simultaneously
- Detail-oriented, with excellent record-keeping abilities
- Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with individuals and teams
- Working fluency in English
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
