We support international companies with a strong focus on sustainability and innovation in identifying experienced professionals to strengthen their finance teams.For one of our clients, an international company active in sustainable solutions for industrial sectors (such as energy, transport, marine and mining), we are currently looking for a Senior Accountant to join their Belgian office. This role offers a challenging and hands-on position at the heart of the financial operations of a growing international group.Your responsibilitiesAct as the internal and external point of contact for all accounts payable and accounts receivable mattersPerform controls and postings related to purchases, sales, payroll, rents, bank statements and expense reports, and make the necessary correctionsPrepare and review agent commission calculationsMonitor and follow up on customer payment schedulesPrepare monthly VAT returnsPrepare monthly and annual closing filesPerform various financial analyses and accounting treatmentsPlay a key role in the monitoring of cash flow and financial movements of the Belgian entityWork closely with other departments, including logistics and operationsWhat's in it for youPermanent contract with an attractive salary packageExtra-legal benefits: meal vouchers, eco-cheques, laptop, smartphone38-hour working week1 day of remote work per weekStrong focus on work-life balanceInformal and people-oriented company cultureModern offices in WaterlooInternal and external training opportunitiesInternational exposure within a global groupCompany certified B Corp, with strong sustainability valuesYour profileBachelor's degree in Accounting / TaxationMinimum 5 years of relevant experience as an accountantExperience with Belgian GAAP and working environment in BelgiumFluent in French and EnglishGood knowledge of Microsoft OfficeAble to work autonomously, proactive and hands-onStrong multitasking skills and adaptabilityExperience with accounting tools such as Exact Online or FileMaker in an Apple environment is a plus
