Junior Software Asset Manager

NISH Tech BV is looking for an experienced Software Asset Management Specialist to support the management of IT software licenses within a leading Belgian energy and electricity transmission organization.

In this role, you will manage the end-to-end lifecycle of software licenses, maintain accurate license inventories, analyse contracts and software usage, monitor renewals and compliance, and identify opportunities for cost optimization.

This is a hands-on role combining administrative, analytical and coordination activities, working closely with IT, Procurement and Finance teams. You will contribute to improving the reliability, compliance and efficiency of the organization's Software Asset Management processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the complete lifecycle of IT software licenses from request and approval through acquisition, deployment, monitoring and renewal.
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date database of active, expired, renewable and removable licenses.
• Analyse software contracts, usage conditions and licensing clauses in collaboration with IT, Procurement and Finance.
• Analyse software usage data to identify unused, underused or oversized licenses.
• Identify opportunities for license and cost optimization.
• Monitor key indicators such as active licenses, unused licenses, upcoming renewals, compliance risks and potential savings.
• Prepare analyses, reports and dashboards to support management decision-making.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective license management.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of Software Asset Management processes.

Required Skills

Mandatory Skills

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in Software Asset Management, Software License Management, IT Procurement, IT Asset Management or a similar role.
• Relevant higher education or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong communication skills in English, combined with professional proficiency in French or Dutch.
• Strong understanding of software license lifecycle management.
• Experience analysing software contracts and licensing conditions.
• Experience with software usage analysis and license optimization.
• Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
• Knowledge of major software licensing models.
• Experience with SAM/ITAM solutions and tools.
• Advanced Excel skills and knowledge of SQL and/or Power BI.
• Strong administrative organization and attention to detail.
• Autonomous, proactive and ownership-driven approach.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience in IT Procurement.
• Experience with Software Asset Management tools.
• Experience with Power BI and data visualization.
• Experience in cost optimization and software compliance initiatives.
• Experience working across IT, Procurement and Finance environments.

Certifications

Relevant Software Asset Management, IT Asset Management or licensing certifications are considered an asset.
