Supply Chain & Procurement Transformation Expert – FreelanceFor a medical device customer in Louvain-La-Neuve are looking for a Senior Supply Chain and Procurement Expert to join on a long term, freelance basis.They are launching a targeted transformation programme to strengthen its end-to-end supply chain and procurement performance. To support this effort, we are looking for an experienced consultant who can challenge the current diagnostic work, refine the analysis, and help shape an improvement plan.The environment is complex: long lead times, specialised components, strict regulatory constraints, and low-volume, high-value production (approx. 8 large systems per year). The role requires someone who is comfortable stepping into an engineering-led organisation, understanding the operational realities, and translating issues into clear, actionable priorities.The consultant will work alongside procurement, supply chain, production, quality, and finance teams, bringing an external perspective and ensuring the improvement roadmap is realistic, quantified, and aligned with operational constraints.ResponsibilitiesReview and challenge existing supply chain and procurement diagnostics.Analyse material flows, component lead times, supplier performance, and production constraints.Identify bottlenecks across planning, procurement, manufacturing, and logistics.Assess the financial impact of issues (cost, working capital, P&L relevance).Translate operational problems into clear business requirements and improvement proposals.Support the development of a practical, prioritised improvement roadmap.Work with internal teams to refine processes and prepare early-stage execution where appropriate.Profile8+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or operations improvement.Strong background in medical devices, high-tech equipment, or similarly regulated, long lead-time manufacturing.Solid understanding of planning, sourcing, supplier development, and production flow.Additional DetailsSENIORITY: SeniorSTART DATE: ASAPDURATION: 12 monthsCONTRACT: FreelanceLOCATION: Louvain La Neuve, BelgiumHOURS: 40LANGUAGES: English required; French is an asset
