Production Engineer

Our client is a dynamic organization specialized in glass production. They mix raw materials into precise recipes and meled in the glass furnace. As an engineer, you will play a key role in driving innovation, efficiency, and operational excellence, working closely with multiple teams.This position is ideal for a technically minded professional with a passion for industrial production and continuous improvement.Responsibilities & Key Tasks:As a Batch & Furnace Engineer, you will be part of a new production facility. Initially, you will support the installation and commissioning of machinery and the glass furnace. Once the furnace is operational, you will be responsible for overseeing all activities within the department, reporting on performance, and continuously optimizing production processes.You report to the Batch & Furnace Manager.You are involved in Production Process ManagementAnalyzing production data within your department and oversee raw-material analyses performed by the laboratory and operatorsIdentifying bottlenecks and implement improvements to increase operational efficiency, both within your department and across others, in cooperation with fellow engineersMonitoring raw material and cullet stock levels and report shortages or deviations; coordinate with procurement, supply chain, or suppliers to ensure sustainable solutionsSetting and monitor furnace parameters and energy consumption, adjusting them to ensure sustainable and high-quality productionCommunicating deviations from the production plan to production planning together with the team leaderActing as the escalation point for production issues and coordinate with maintenance when needed; initiate improvement projects for recurring problemsPerforming daily checks and calibrationsContribute to the annual budgeting process and manage costs responsiblyPrepare reports on furnace energy efficiency, raw materials, and production performanceParticipate in working groups and improvement projectsDevelop, implement, and update procedures and work instructions in collaboration with operatorsContinuously improve production efficiencyAct as a key user in the implementation of production software (e.g., SAP or similar systems)Actively participate in meetingsYour background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Materials Engineering (preferred)Proven experience with industrial glass furnaces (container glass, flat glass, household glass, or specialty glass)Strong interest in learning and developing within an advanced glass-production environmentContinuous improvement mindset and strong problem-solving abilitiesAnalytical and structured working style with attention to budgets, planning, and knowledge sharingStrong communication skills in English (spoken and written)Team-oriented and collaborativeLeadership potential and people-management skills for future growthProactive, dynamic, and innovative personalityThe offer: You will join a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and have the opportunity to help shape both the plant and your own role in a high-technology industrial environment.The compensation package includes:Competitive salary with company car, smartphone, and laptop42 days of leave (including public holidays)Hospitalization insuranceGroup insurance (from 1 January 2026)Meal vouchersTraining and professional development opportunitiesExpansion of benefits over time
