Description
Presentation
- The assignment is situated within the Directorate of Police Information and ICT (DRI) of the Client.
- DRI is responsible for the management of police information and ICT resources. The Board is responsible for the preparation of policy and regulations on information management, the development of standards and technical norms, and the implementation of information and communication systems.
- The position is located within the Systems Division (DIST). DIST develops the ICT system architecture, organizes and manages the ICT systems, data centers and central infrastructure. In addition, the division determines technical standards, implements ICT security and provides specialized third-line support.
Project
- The DECOM project aims to reduce mainframe dependency by migrating BNG, BCE (KBO) and other police data to a modern, open architecture. This migration makes this data more easily accessible to applications such as PoliceSearch, analytics solutions, artificial intelligence (AI), and intelligence-based policing (ILP).
- PHP and C-based applications play an important role in this. The consultant is part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of internal and external employees.
Mission
- The consultant is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining and improving PHP and C solutions within the IT and communication systems of the organization.
Main tasks:
- Design, development and testing of applications based on functional and technical analyses
- Monitoring the quality and further development of PHP and C applications in a high-availability environment
- Analyzing user needs in collaboration with functional analysts
- Monitoring technological evolutions and formulating technical advice
- Proposing improvements and modifications to existing solutions and projects
- Preparation and maintenance of technical documentation
- Application maintenance and technical support
