Context of the assignment
- To support and realize complex IT and software development projects, we are looking for an experienced Senior IT Project Manager
- The consultant guides multidisciplinary teams in the development, implementation and delivery of high-quality IT solutions that meet concrete business needs. The assignment is situated in an environment with multiple teams, projects, stakeholders, suppliers and technical dependencies.
- The consultant combines classic project management with agile principles. The consultant provides structure, transparency and cooperation and monitors the coherence between scope, planning, capacity, budget, quality and delivery.
Purpose of the assignment
The assignment aims to:
- Successfully organize and deliver complex IT and software development projects;
- Further implement and professionalize agile working methods;
- Manage dependencies across teams, projects, customers, and suppliers;
- Improve project, release and service processes;
- Monitor alignment between business needs, processes, architecture and technical solutions.
- provide reliable reporting on progress, risks, capacity, budget and quality.
Tasks and responsibilities
The consultant is responsible for:
- Project and delivery management
- Planning, organizing and following up complex IT, software development and implementation projects.
- Monitoring scope, timing, budget, capacity, risks, quality and dependencies.
- Coordinating multidisciplinary teams and external suppliers.
- Follow up on multiple teams, projects or customers within a common delivery context.
- Preparing status reports and decision information for management and stakeholders.
- Supporting demand and capacity planning, budgeting and forecasting.
- Supervising releases, implementations, migrations and commissioning.
Quality, release and service
- Monitoring the quality of the delivered solutions.
- Organizing and improving test, release and deployment processes.
- Supporting manual testing, test automation and CI/CD methods.
- Setting up or improving support and service management processes.
- Follow-up of incidents, problems, changes, risks and service agreements.
- Defining and following up on KPIs and management reporting.
The consultant:
- Works in a result-oriented way and takes responsibility for the assigned assignment;

- Brings structure to complex and changing environments;
- Stimulates cooperation, open communication and knowledge sharing;
- Can coach teams without losing sight of the operational objectives;
- Deals pragmatically with risks, dependencies and conflicting interests;
- Is analytically strong and can translate business needs into feasible solutions;
- Has good facilitating services, advisory and presentation skills;
- Pays attention to quality, continuous improvement and sustainable knowledge transfer.
Expected results
The consultant is expected to achieve the following results:
- A supported and realistic project or delivery planning;
- clear follow-up of scope, timing, capacity, budget, risks and dependencies;
- Transparent progress reporting for stakeholders and management;
- A prioritized and manageable backlog;
- Better cooperating and more independently functioning teams;
- Demonstrable improvements in project, development, testing, release or service processes;
- Timely escalation and follow-up of bottlenecks and risks;
- Acontrolled delivery and commissioning of the agreed IT solutions;
- Documentation and knowledge transfer to the internal organization.
- Demonstrable experience as a project leader in infrastructure projects or development projects
- Demonstrable experience with project management techniques and being able to use tools (risk management, issue management, etc.)
- Demonstrable knowledge of MS Project, MS Office (Powerpoint, Excel).
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience with ITIL.
- Demonstrated experience with terminology, organization, roles and processes of the PM methodology (e.g. Prince2, PMBok, ...), preferably demonstrated by certification
- Language requirement: Dutch at European CEFR - level C2.
