Global Customs Specialist

Your role

Als Global Customs Specialist voor onze Industrial Technique Business Area (ITBA) ben je verantwoordelijk voor het wereldwijd in kaart brengen, beoordelen, optimaliseren en helpen controleren van de douanestromen en -structuren binnen onze organisatie. Je zorgt ervoor dat alle processen volledig in lijn zijn met de groepsbrede en ITBA-trade compliance richtlijnen. Jij bent de expert die garandeert dat wij voldoen aan alle internationale en nationale douanewetgevingen en -voorschriften en fungeert als hét aanspreekpunt voor alle douanezaken binnen onze Business Area.

In deze rol adviseer en ontwikkel je wereldwijde douanestrategieën voor import en export in samenwerking met douaneautoriteiten en interne stakeholders. Je stelt beleid en procedures op die zorgen voor volledig trade compliant processen en volgt actief wijzigingen in nationale en internationale douanewetgeving om deze tijdig te vertalen naar onze organisatie. Door middel van risicoanalyses en procesbeoordelingen binnen de Business Area identificeer je verbeterpunten en draag je bij aan de optimalisatie van onze douaneprocessen.

Je ondersteunt de verdere groei van onze organisatie door het implementeren van op maat gemaakte douaneprocedures die aansluiten bij zowel wettelijke vereisten als interne logistieke stromen. Daarbij breng je onze operationele douaneflows in kaart en onderhoud je nauwe samenwerking met onze distributiecentra en logistieke afdelingen. Je coacht en traint collega’s op het gebied van douanezaken, voert interne audits uit op onze processen en bij partners, rapporteert bevindingen aan het leiderschapsteam en zorgt voor de implementatie van corrigerende maatregelen.

Als lid van het wereldwijde Trade Compliance Team ITBA werk je samen met verschillende interne en externe partijen, waaronder douaneautoriteiten, exportcontrolinstanties en consultants. In deze functie rapporteer je rechtstreeks aan de Trade Compliance Lead ITBA.

• You have a master's degree economics, law, ...
• You have a first working experience relevant to this job role or you have gained specific knowledge during your education.
• You can communicate fluently in Dutch and English (spoken and written). 
• You are open to change, learn quickly and adapt easily to new technologies
• This is a global function which can require travelling depending on the needs

Job location

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Atlas Copco airpower site in Wilrijk, Antwerp, Belgium (BE).
