What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the ongoing development, implementation, and monitoring of the Information Security Management System (ISMS), including policies, processes, procedures, documentation, and review cycles.
  • Drive progress towards ISO 27001 certification, ensuring all requirements are met and maintained.
  • Identify, analyze, and monitor cybersecurity risks, manage the risk register, and report periodically to relevant stakeholders.
  • Oversee compliance with ISO 27001, NIS2, and CyberFundamentals (CyFun), preparing and guiding internal and external audits.
  • Manage the Statement of Applicability and audit documentation, ensuring continuous audit readiness.
  • Maintain and enhance the Incident Response Plan, coordinate security incidents, and ensure proper follow-up on reporting obligations and corrective actions.
  • Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives, with a focus on security aspects.
  • Assess supplier and supply chain risks, ensuring compliance with security requirements from critical partners.
  • Direct external security partners and monitor the implementation of vulnerability management, patch management, monitoring, and identity & access management.
  • Strengthen security awareness across the organization through targeted training and awareness campaigns.
  • Support management and the board with clear, actionable reporting on KPIs, risks, incidents, and cybersecurity progress.

What We’re Looking For

  • Master’s degree in ICT, business, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrable experience in information security, cybersecurity, or ICT risk management.
  • Deep knowledge of information security frameworks and standards: ISO 27001, NIS2, CyberFundamentals (CyFun).
  • Proven experience with risk management, audits, compliance, and ISMS setup or management.
  • Understanding of modern IT environments: infrastructure, cloud, identity, and security services.
  • Insight into security operations, vulnerability management, supplier management, and incident management.
  • Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor) are a strong asset.
  • Analytical, structured, and able to translate complex challenges into actionable solutions.
  • Skilled at engaging stakeholders at all levels, from operational teams to executive leadership.
  • Experience in healthcare or with sensitive personal data protection is a plus.
  • Fluent in Dutch and proficient in English.

Other Requirements

  • Freelance position: 3-month contract, with potential for extension.
