Service description:

  • As Buyer Field Services, you are responsible for a diverse portfolio of field-service categories that support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the high-voltage grid. Acting as a strategic link between internal stakeholders and suppliers, you take ownership of complex procurement initiatives and provide expert commercial guidance throughout the sourcing and contract lifecycle. You contribute to stronger business performance by improving procurement processes, managing risks and optimising Total Cost of Ownership, while ensuring that operational requirements and internal customer needs are fully addressed.

In this role, your key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing structured, innovative category and sourcing strategies for Field Services, in line with the procurement policy and business objectives;
  • Acting as a trusted commercial partner to internal stakeholders by challenging requirements, shaping sourcing approaches and creating added value from the earliest stage of the procurement process;
  • Building effective, long-term relationships with suppliers and ensuring clear communication and alignment between all relevant stakeholders;
  • Conducting market analyses, leading complex tendering processes and commercial negotiations, and managing contracts and strategic suppliers throughout their lifecycle;
  • Identifying and managing commercial, contractual, operational and supplier-related risks, and ensuring appropriate mitigation measures are implemented;
  • Ensuring the accurate implementation and follow-up of procurement contracts in the ERP system and related contract management tools;
  • Leading cross-functional teams through transparent, structured and results-oriented collaboration, and coordinating decision-making across technical, operational, legal and financial stakeholders;
  • Achieving the best overall balance between service, safety, quality, risk and cost in order to maximise value for the company.

Requirements:

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • You hold a master’s degree and have at least five years of relevant experience in procurement, commercial management or contract management, preferably in technical services, construction, infrastructure or an industrial environment;
  • You have a strong command of Dutch and French, as well as a good professional command of English;
  • You combine empathy, maturity and credibility to build trusted relationships with internal customers, suppliers and team members;
  • You are comfortable working autonomously, taking ownership of complex files and assuming a leading role, while remaining a collaborative team player;
  • You communicate clearly, decisively and in a structured manner, including with senior stakeholders;
  • You demonstrate strong analytical and commercial judgement and can quickly translate complex information into well-founded recommendations and decisions;
  • You have proven negotiation skills and experience leading complex tenders and contract negotiations;
  • Experience in project-based work, supplier performance management and collaboration with technical or operational teams is a strong asset.
