About the Role

RELYzIT Talent is seeking a Junior Full Stack Developer (Java Spring Boot / Angular) for a transformative public sector project in Belgium. This freelance opportunity places you at the heart of a mission-critical application overhaul, where your code will directly impact regulatory transparency and operational efficiency for thousands. You’ll join a collaborative, agile team, working alongside business experts and technical leaders to deliver a next-generation regulatory management platform with full traceability and robust integrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business analysts and project managers to refine the product backlog and contribute to functional analysis.
• Design data models and application architecture in close coordination with the project architect.
• Develop robust back-end services using Java and Spring Boot, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
• Build responsive back-office interfaces for administration staff and integrate front-office features with the existing online portal using Angular.
• Implement and maintain integrations with third-party systems, including accounting tools and official data sources via RESTful web services.
• Ensure security best practices, especially for features exposed to external users, and comply with all operational and technology standards.
• Write and execute unit tests, proactively identify and resolve anomalies, and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Participate in data migration from the legacy system, including scripting and reporting.
• Deploy application increments to administration environments, ensuring each release is tested, versioned, and documented.
• Produce clear, rigorous technical and functional documentation in line with project standards.
• Engage in agile ceremonies (Scrum), working closely with the Scrum Master, business team, and fellow developers.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Java development with Spring Boot (Junior level)
• Front-end development using Angular (Junior level)
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases
• Experience with RESTful web services
• Familiarity with unit testing methodologies
• Exposure to Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum
• Ability to contribute to functional analysis and translate business needs into technical solutions

Language Proficiency

• Fluent French required: must be able to communicate clearly with non-technical business users and project stakeholders

Other Requirements

• Freelance position: 12-month contract, partial remote work possible
• Mandatory on-site presence during core hours: 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM (8-hour workday)
• Ability to handle confidential and personal data with the utmost integrity
• Strong teamwork skills: collaborate effectively with analysts, Scrum Master, and business experts
• Autonomous, responsible, and rigorous in documentation and delivery
• Analytical and synthesis skills to distill complex requirements into actionable solutions
