We ARE looking for 2 Offshore Island Construction Managers for one of our clients on-going project.
Service Expectations:
The Construction manager:
Contract type: Freelance / Self-Employed
Start and end dates:
September 2026-March 2027:
Full time (40 hr/week) office based to focus on project familiarization and scope preparation (Belgium)
March 2027-November 2027:
Working in a rotation system with a back-to-back construction manager (2 weeks on/ 2 weeks off or 4 weeks on/4 weeks off), accommodated on the offshore island in accommodation containers.
December 2027-March 2028:
Full time (40 hr/week) office based to focus on lessons learned and scope preparation/optimization (Belgium)
March 2028-November 2028:
Working in a rotation system with a back-to-back construction manager (2 weeks on/ 2 weeks off or 4 weeks on/4 weeks off), accommodated on the offshore island in accommodation containers.
Service Expectations:
The Construction manager:
- Reports to the Island Works Manager
- Coordinates a team of client reps and project engineers
- Health Safety and Environmental control of the EPC contractor (risk based) (with support from the HSE officer)
- Quality control of the EPC contractor (risk based)
- (with support from the QC officer and onshore project team)
- Progress reporting
- Staffing plan for client reps (with support from the Island Works Manager)
- Hiring + integration of client reps (with support from the Island Works Manager and the onshore project team)
- Review of method statements, Risk analysis, procedures (with support from the onshore project team)
- Shall pro-actively identify risks + opportunities and propose mitigation plans
- Is the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) at site towards project for the day-to-day construction activities
- Is supported by project engineers (marine, civil) offshore and the onshore project team (marine, civil, PM, QC, HSE, contracts)
- You have at least 10 years of relevant working experience
- Experience with civil construction is a must
- Experience in the offshore sector is a plus
- Working knowledge of structural and corrosion protection is a large plus
- Working knowledge of other disciplines (Electrical, Instrumentation, Telecom, Mechanical,…) is a plus
- Education: Engineer (preferably civil)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Working in team and structured
- A quick learner
- Shows persistence and demonstrates determination
- Excellent MS Office skills, knowledge of ACONEX
- Training and certification
- Medical (e.g. NOGEPA)
- BOSIET or equivalent training
- Boat landing training
- Languages: Fluent in English (Dutch or French is a plus)
