Intro
Join RELYzIT Talent as a Senior Power Systems Engineer & Software Engineer for a high-impact, short-term freelance assignment with our client. This is your opportunity to shape the future of data quality and anomaly detection in critical infrastructure, working alongside another elite specialist. If you thrive on solving complex challenges and want your work to have lasting impact, this is where you belong.
Why This Role Matters (Mission & Outcomes)
Our client is embarking on a pivotal research project to revolutionize how data from Digital Cabinets is cleaned, structured, and analyzed for anomalies within their data platform. Your mission: co-develop a robust, production-ready algorithm—delivered as a Databricks Wheel—that will set the standard for data integrity and operational excellence in the energy sector. The outcome? Reliable, actionable insights that empower smarter decisions and future-proof infrastructure.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Collaborate with a fellow specialist to design, develop, and test an advanced algorithm for structural data cleaning and anomaly detection on Digital Cabinet datasets.
- Engineer and package the solution as a Databricks Wheel, ensuring seamless integration and deployment within the client’s data platform.
- Analyze and process time series measurement data from electricity networks (LV and HV), focusing on data quality, root-cause analysis, and anomaly identification.
- Work closely with the client’s platform and data experts to validate operational functionality, stability, and compliance with European data regulations.
- Deliver a stable, coherent, and scalable algorithm ready for demonstration by the project’s end date (31/12/2026).
- Document your approach and outcomes, ensuring knowledge transfer and future scalability.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven ownership mindset: you take initiative, drive outcomes, and deliver solutions that last.
- Deep problem-solving skills, especially in complex, data-driven environments.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a high-trust, builder-first environment.
- Strong communication skills in Dutch (CEFR level C2), enabling seamless collaboration with local teams.
- Immediate availability for a freelance engagement.
Technical Skills & Experience
- Senior-level expertise in Power Systems Engineering, with hands-on experience in electricity networks.
- Solid experience with Azure data engineering (Medior level or higher).
- Demonstrable track record in data ingestion, data quality cleaning, and root-cause analysis of data quality issues.
- Experience with Data Science, MLOps, and time series data from electricity networks (Medior level or higher).
- Expertise in Python software engineering (or equivalent languages), including software architecture, code reviews, test automation, CI/CD, packaging, and deployment of Python applications.
- Experience deploying Python as a Wheel in Databricks, with reference projects compliant with European data regulations (document upload required).
- Experience processing and analyzing substation measurement data in secure, customer-managed cloud environments (including customer-managed laptops).
- Master’s degree (or equivalent through experience) is mandatory; degree document upload required.
- Fluency in Dutch at CEFR level C2 (both must-have and should-have).
Other Requirements
- Freelance position: 2-month project duration, based in Melle, Belgium.
- Team submission: This offer is valid only as part of a team of two profiles (see related Senior Data Scientist / MLOps Engineer role).
- Reference project document (not CV) demonstrating deployment of Python as a Wheel in Databricks, compliant with European data regulations, must be uploaded.
- Immediate start required.
