Compliance is changing fast. New regulation, data and AI are reshaping how financial institutions protect customers, manage risk and run their business. As a Compliance Services Consultant, you help clients turn these challenges into practical, efficient and future-ready solutions.
You join a growing BDO team with an ambition to become one of Belgium’s leading partners in Compliance Transformation. We combine deep regulatory expertise with process improvement, data, automation and AI to help clients move beyond remediation and build sustainable compliance capabilities.
From day one, you work alongside experienced colleagues, contribute to assignments that matter and receive the coaching you need to grow. At BDO, you are known by name, encouraged to bring your own ideas and given room to shape your career. Let’s Grow Together.
What will you be doing?
No two assignments are the same. During your first years, your focus will mainly be on hands-on, operational compliance assignments. This allows you to build a strong understanding of how compliance works in practice across Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing (AML/CFT), Know Your Customer (KYC), MiFID and client protection. Together with experienced colleagues, you will typically:
• Perform KYC and AML reviews of client files, transactions and alerts, identify potential risks, document your findings carefully and support remediation or backlog projects.
• Apply client procedures and regulatory requirements consistently, with guidance from more experienced colleagues.
• Help monitor quality, identify recurring issues and suggest practical improvements based on your day-to-day experience.
• Gain initial exposure to digital compliance by working with client systems, workflow tools and data used in day-to-day compliance activities.
• Prepare clear updates and work closely with client teams and your BDO colleagues. These operational assignments give you the practical foundation needed to grow. As your confidence and expertise develop, you will gradually contribute to broader analyses, regulatory research and process improvements. You will also have opportunities to deepen your digital compliance experience by helping translate operational needs into data-driven monitoring, workflow automation and AI-supported solutions. What do you bring to the table?
• You are completing or recently completed a Master’s degree in law, criminology, economics, business, commercial engineering, risk management, data or a related field.
• You are curious about financial services, regulation and the way technology is changing compliance.
• You enjoy analysing information, spotting inconsistencies and turning complex questions into clear, practical answers.
• You take initiative, communicate openly and like working with people who bring different perspectives.
• You work carefully, organise your priorities and ask for feedback to keep improving.
• You are fluent in Dutch or French, have a good understanding of the other national language and communicate confidently in English.
• Previous exposure to compliance or financial services is welcome, but your motivation and learning mindset matter most. What do we bring to the table?
• A clear learning path: build a strong foundation in compliance, discover the topics that energise you and gradually specialise.
• Hands-on coaching from experienced colleagues, regular feedback and increasing ownership as you develop.
• Varied assignments with leading financial institutions, from operational compliance to process optimisation and digital transformation.
• Opportunities to work with experts in data, technology, audit and legal, and to contribute to reusable tools and AI-enabled solutions.
• Training through BDO Academy, team knowledge sessions and learning on the job.
• A close-knit, ambitious team where your ideas are heard and where you can help shape a fast-growing service offering.
• Flexible working arrangements, including working from home or a nearby BDO office when the assignment allows it.
• A competitive salary package with benefits such as a net expense allowance, company car, mobile phone plan and hospitalisation insurance.
• An inclusive and responsible employer with an integrated sustainability policy. Ready to build a career where regulation, business and technology come together? Send us your CV. We would be happy to discover what you can bring to the team—and where you want to grow. #JT
