Overview
To support several projects for a client in the pharmaceutical sector in the region of Brussels, we are searching for an experienced Project Engineer HVAC & Black Utilities.
Responsibilities
The candidate will join an infrastructure cluster, supporting multiple HVAC and black utilities projects across sites in Braine-l’Alleud and Anderlecht. The need arises from the internal transfer of a current SME to large projects, requiring a replacement to ensure continuity on ongoing and upcoming projects. The role involves acting as a technical expert and ensuring compliance with quality, HSE, and sustainability requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Team info:
The candidate will work within a multidisciplinary project environment composed of Project Leads and several SMEs across different domains (e.g. electrical, infrastructure). Depending on project size and complexity, the candidate may contribute to multiple smaller projects simultaneously or focus on a large-scale project with several sub-projects. Collaboration and communication across teams are essential, as projects are interdependent and involve multiple stakeholders (site teams, contractors, engineering partners).
Day to day:
Define and validate HVAC and black utilities technical solutions during design phases
Challenge and approve engineering contractor deliverables and technical specifications
Prepare and manage technical documentation and tenders, including supplier selection
Coordinate with stakeholders and ensure alignment across interfaces
Monitor construction and commissioning activities (HVAC & piping)
Identify risks, deviations (quality, cost, schedule, HSE) and implement corrective actions
Support project follow-up (budget, planning, progress) with the Project Lead
Ensure proper integration of installations with site operations
Participate in sustainability objectives and site compliance requirements
Work on a variety of projects (industrial HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, ducting, building services installations)
Qualifications

Experience with tendering processes, technical specifications, and supplier management
Strong knowledge of HSE and site compliance requirements
Fluency in French and professional/technical English
Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset
Ability to challenge technical solutions and stakeholders
Nice to have:
Knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems
Experience across multi-site or complex infrastructure environments
Previous exposure to large-scale or multi-disciplinary projects
Work model:

On-site presence expected due to technical and construction activities
