What you'll do
- Be Otto's engineering presence at the factory: visit regularly, review drawings and samples, and run builds (EVT/DVT/PVT).
- Resolve engineering misunderstandings quickly and clearly in both Mandarin and English.
- Own the development schedule, issue tracking, and change requests with the ODM.
- Push for quality, cost, and timeline, and flag risks early. What we're looking for:
- Real mechanical or hardware engineering background (not just translation or sourcing).
- 5+ years in NPI, product development, or program management for consumer electronics.
- Fluent Mandarin and strong written and spoken English.
- Based in Shenzhen or Dongguan and able to be at the factory often.
- Experience with startups or Western hardware brands is a big plus.
