Over de job – Ons finance-team bedient beide vennootschappen en groeit mee met onze ambities. Als Controller breng je de analytische kant van finance naar een hoger niveau. Terwijl onze accountants zorgen voor een correcte en vlotte boekhouding, zet jij de cijfers om in inzichten die het management helpen om de juiste beslissingen te nemen. Je werkt nauw samen met de accountants en met collega’s uit operations, sales en engineering, en je rapporteert rechtstreeks aan de CFO. Deze functie kan voltijds of deeltijds ingevuld worden. Bij een start-up en een scale-up is geen maand dezelfde: naast het vaste ritme van rapportering, budgettering en forecasting werk je mee aan strategische projecten. In een groeiend bedrijf is je rol bovendien breder dan je titel: je schakelt vlot tussen strategie en uitvoering, steekt zelf de handen uit de mouwen en springt bij waar het nodig is. Zo groei je uit tot een echte sparringpartner van de CFO en CEO’s. Verantwoordelijkheden Planning, rapportering en afsluiting
- Opmaak en opvolging van het jaarbudget en de forecasts voor beide vennootschappen, inclusief analyses van budget versus realisatie
- Maandelijkse managementrapportering en KPI-dashboards voorbereiden voor het management team en de raad van bestuur, met heldere analyses en concrete aanbevelingen
- Nauwe samenwerking met de accountants bij de maand
- en jaarafsluiting: je analyseert de cijfers, verklaart afwijkingen en zorgt mee voor een betrouwbare rapportering
- Kostprijsberekening: marges per product/project/business line en nacalculaties
- Cashflowplanning en opvolging van de liquiditeit Business partnering en analyse
- Business partner voor de commerciële en operationele afdelingen: je ondersteunt en challenget hen met analyses en KPI’s en helpt zo hun resultaten te verbeteren
- Ad-hocanalyses en business cases ter ondersteuning van strategische beslissingen, zoals investeringen en prijszetting
- Mee bouwen aan een meer targetgerichte organisatie: je vertaalt samen met het management de strategie naar meetbare targets & measures per afdeling, volgt de realisatie op versus de doelstellingen en stuurt bij waar nodig. Zo groeien kostenbewustzijn en eigenaarschap over de cijfers doorheen de hele organisatie Processen en systemen
- Uitbouwen van schaalbare controlling processen die naadloos aansluiten op de boekhoudprocessen en meegroeien met onze organisatie: je zet structuren op, legt duidelijke procedures vast, automatiseert waar mogelijk en zorgt dat de cijfers vanaf de bron kloppen
- Verdere uitbouw van onze rapportering in Odoo, Bright Analytics, BI en Excel, met oog voor automatisering en efficiëntie Corporate en financiering
- Ondersteuning van de CFO bij vennootschapsrechtelijke projecten, zoals financieringsrondes: je bereidt financiële modellen en analyses voor, begeleidt due-diligenceprocessen en zorgt dat de financiële documentatie en datarooms altijd up-to-date zijn
- Voorbereiding & opvolging van de raad van bestuur en de algemene vergadering, inclusief de notulen
- Subsidiebeheer: je identificeert relevante lokale en internationale subsidies, bouwt sterke aanvragen uit en organiseert de verantwoording en audits van ontvangen steun samen met de accountants Vaardigheden
- Bij voorkeur een master in de economische wetenschappen, handelswetenschappen of handelsingenieur, of gelijkwaardig door ervaring
- 3 à 5 jaar ervaring in controlling, audit of een gelijkaardige financiële functie, bij voorkeur in een KMO, productie
- of hightechomgeving met een sterke performancemanagementcultuur
- Je hebt een goede basiskennis van boekhouden en begrijpt hoe de cijfers tot stand komen
- Je bent sterk in Excel en vertrouwd met een ERP-pakket; ervaring met Odoo of BI-tools is een troef, net als affiniteit met automatisering en digitale tools
- Je bent analytisch sterk en kritisch, en kijkt verder dan de cijfers: je zoekt het verhaal erachter en vertaalt het naar concrete aanbevelingen
- Je communiceert helder en brengt financiële informatie op een begrijpelijke manier voor niet-financiële collega’s; je schakelt vlot tussen verschillende stakeholders en voelt je comfortabel op het snijvlak van finance en business
- Je bent nauwkeurig, discreet en deadlinegericht, en gaat vertrouwelijk om met gevoelige informatie
- Je bent ondernemend, gedreven en resultaatsgericht: je werkt graag zelfstandig, neemt initiatief en bent tegelijk een echte teamplayer in een dynamische groeiomgeving waar nog niet alles vastligt

About the role
– Our finance team serves both companies and grows along with our ambitions. As Controller, you take the analytical side of finance to the next level. While our accountants ensure accurate and smooth bookkeeping, you turn the numbers into insights that help management make the right decisions. You work closely with the accountants and with colleagues from operations, sales and engineering, and you report directly to the CFO. This position can be filled on a full-time or part-time basis. In a start-up and a scale-up, no two months are the same: alongside the regular rhythm of reporting, budgeting and forecasting, you contribute to strategic projects. In a growing company, your role is also broader than your title: you switch easily between strategy and execution, roll up your sleeves and step in wherever needed. This way, you grow into a true sparring partner for the CFO and CEOs. Responsibilities Planning, reporting and closing
- Preparing and monitoring the annual budget and forecasts for both companies, including budget-versus-actual analyses
- Prepare monthly management reporting and KPI dashboards for the management team and the board of directors, with clear analyses and concrete recommendations
- Close cooperation with the accountants during the monthly and year-end closing: you analyse the figures, explain variances and help ensure reliable reporting
- Cost price calculation: margins per product/project/business line and post-calculations
- Cash flow planning and liquidity monitoring Business partnering and analysis
- Business partner for the commercial and operational departments: you support and challenge them with analyses and KPIs, helping them improve their results
- Ad-hoc analyses and business cases to support strategic decisions, such as investments and pricing
- Helping build a more target-driven organisation: together with management, you translate the strategy into measurable targets & measures per department, monitor actual performance against objectives and take corrective action where needed. This way, cost awareness and ownership of the figures grow throughout the entire organisation Processes and systems
- Developing scalable controlling processes that align seamlessly with the accounting processes and grow with our organisation: you set up structures, define clear procedures, automate where possible and ensure the figures are right at the source
- Further developing our reporting in Odoo, Bright Analytics, BI and Excel, with a focus on automation and efficiency Corporate and financing
- Supporting the CFO in corporate projects, such as funding rounds: you prepare financial models and analyses, guide due diligence processes and ensure that financial documentation and data rooms are always up to date
- Preparing and following up on board meetings and general meetings, including the minutes
- Grant management: you identify relevant local and international grants, build strong applications and organise the reporting and audits of grants received together with the accountants Skills
- Preferably a master’s degree in economics, business administration or business engineering, or equivalent through experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in controlling, audit or a similar finance role, preferably in an SME, manufacturing or high-tech environment with a strong performance management culture
- You have a good basic knowledge of accounting and understand how the figures are built up
- You are strong in Excel and familiar with an ERP system; experience with Odoo or BI tools is an asset, as is an affinity with automation and digital tools
- You are analytically strong and critical, and look beyond the numbers: you find the story behind them and translate it into concrete recommendations
- You communicate clearly and make financial information understandable for non-financial colleagues; you move easily between different stakeholders and feel comfortable at the intersection of finance and business
- You are accurate, discreet and deadline-driven, and handle sensitive information confidentially
- You are entrepreneurial, driven and results-oriented: you like to work independently and take initiative, while being a true team player in a dynamic, growing environment where not everything is set in stone
- You bring maturity, decisiveness and a hands-on mentality, allowing you to make an impact at both strategic and operational level
