(Expert) Business and project Analyst Intelligent Automation and AI

Context AETHER is a key partner for intrapreneurial projects in Belgium, and we want to reinforce our support of key actors in the energy sector, who are facing interesting challenges regarding operational efficiency and the development of a reliable and sustainable electricity system. New projects are therefore ongoing to ensure that Belgian companies can automate complex tasks and support the safe operation of the electrical system as operational demands become more complex. Hence why we are looking for an expert Business and project Analyst Intelligent Automation and AI (Freelance) to strengthen our team of Project Partners. Task Description As an AETHER Project Partner embedded within the project team, your objective will be to translate business needs into valuable AI and automation initiatives and coordinate their implementation across business and IT. The mission supports the development of future energy infrastructure and innovative services aligned with European climate policy, with the community's interest central to decision-making. The project environment combines policy advice, customer partnership and consumer-centred system design with safe electrical system operation. It involves optimising asset use, improving system visibility and understanding, developing methods and tools for stability challenges, automating complex tasks, and using production and flexibility tools to support a new market design and a strong price signal. You will deliver initiatives for one or more business services, contributing to technological progress and digital transformation within the core business.

Key Responsibilities
Might Include
• Support the business in using new technologies to improve efficiency and navigate increasingly complex operations.
• Define business expectations and connect them with implementation teams.
• Be an advocate for the use of AI and automation within the organisation.
• Analyse and document solution requirements based on business needs.
• Use your AI knowledge to apply relevant approaches in a TSO setting.
• Assess the value of AI and automation use cases.
• Coordinate the implementation of new technologies across different fields in cross-functional projects.
• Train and support business users to make optimal use of tools. Profile
• At least 10 years of relevant experience or experience in a comparable role.
• Initial professional experience implementing AI in a large company, preferably in a regulated environment such as TSO’s.
• Excellent command of Dutch and/or French, alongside excellent English.
• A degree in civil engineering or commercial engineering, a master's degree in science, or an equivalent qualification.
• In-depth knowledge of the different AI and automation solutions available on the market.
• In-depth knowledge of project management.
• Excellent analytical and conceptual abilities.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently, take initiative, and adopt a solution-oriented approach.
• Strong customer focus, flexibility, critical thinking, and a collaborative mindset.
• Willingness to deliver the service in Brussels, with onsite presence governed by the client's remote work policy.
• Availability for the planned assignment from 02-11-2026 to 31-12-2027; the service description also requests an ASAP start.
• Agreement to an assignment under a secondment arrangement.
• An entrepreneurial experience or ambition is a plus, including extra-professional or extra-academic activities.
