Quality Technician

As Quality Technician, you will safeguard product quality throughout the production process at our facility in Kallo – from incoming raw material inspection to in-process monitoring and final product control – while contributing to the continuous improvement of our quality systems. Incoming & In-Process Quality Control
• Inspect and test incoming raw material (sustainably sourced softwood) against agreed specifications, flagging non-conformities to Purchasing and Production
• Monitor and verify critical process parameters during the wood modification process (impregnation and curing), such as retention levels and weight percent gain (WPG), to ensure treated wood meets Kebony's quality standards
• Carry out routine in-line and laboratory testing (e.g. moisture content, dimensions, visual grading) and record results accurately in the quality system Outgoing Quality & Non-Conformance Management
• Perform final quality checks on finished products before dispatch, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and certification requirements
• Investigate quality deviations and customer complaints, perform root-cause analysis, and define and follow up corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
• Maintain accurate quality records, test certificates, and batch traceability documentation
• Prepare and coordinate product samples for customers, ensuring that samples are representative, correctly identified, and meet the required quality and product specifications before dispatch Quality Systems & Continuous Improvement
• Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of Kebony's quality management system (e.g. ISO 9001), and help prepare for internal and external audits
• Calibrate and maintain quality control and laboratory measuring equipment according to schedule
• Work closely with Production, R&D, and the plant manager in Kallo to translate quality findings into practical process improvements
• Contribute to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards on the shop floor What we are looking for: Experience, Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor's degree in a technical, chemical, or engineering discipline, or equivalent experience in a quality role within a production environment
• 2+ years of experience in a quality control or quality assurance role, ideally in wood, panel, or another manufacturing industry
• Working knowledge of quality tools and standards, such as
• ISO 9001 and quality management systems
• EN wood / timber product standards
• Statistical process control (SPC) principles
• Comfortable working with lab and in-line testing equipment, and interpreting technical and statistical data
• Working experience with ERP/QMS systems and MS Office, especially Excel
• Precise, structured, and hands-on, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Fluent in Dutch and English
