Senior Functional Analyst

Our client is looking for an experienced functional analyst who can turn complex business needs into clear, buildable specifications and, when needed, lead the business analysis effort as well. The assignment sits within a major transformation programme involving a central platform used to manage member data, contributions, payments, benefits, and reporting across different operational domains. Responsibilities
• Define business rules, data mappings, and interface/API specifications.
• Translate complex business processes such as contributions, settlements, benefits, corrections, direct debits, accounting, and related financial flows into precise functional specifications.
• Write user stories, process descriptions, and acceptance criteria in line with internal standards.
• Develop process diagrams and use cases together with subject matter experts.
• Support the analysis phase for new developments, bug fixes, and improvements.
• Work closely with business departments, development teams, suppliers, product owners, testers, and project leadership to align scope and priorities.
• Prepare and execute functional testing with testers and key users.
• Validate data migrations and financial calculations using reference files, and identify discrepancies between legacy and new system data.
• Maintain functional documentation in the central knowledge management platform.
• Support training activities for key users and facilitate knowledge sharing through release notes, demos, and feedback cycles. Ideal Candidate
• At least 7 years of experience as a functional analyst in complex or regulated environments such as finance, social affairs, or the public sector.
• Strong understanding of data modelling and process analysis, with good insight into financial flows such as contributions, settlements, and SEPA payments.
• Experience with ERP-like platforms, data migrations, and functional integrations.
• Experience with databases and data processing, including queries, data structures, and data flows.
• Knowledge of Power BI, Excel analysis, and SharePoint is a plus.
• Experience with Azure DevOps or similar ticketing and test management tools.
• Experience using AI tools in analysis work, with the ability to critically assess their output.
• A master’s or bachelor’s degree in applied economics, IT, or equivalent experience.
• Certification in requirements engineering or business analysis, such as IREB CPRE, CBAP, or Agile BA, is an advantage. Profile

• Strong communicator with the ability to work diplomatically and build alignment across stakeholders.
• Structured, solution-oriented, and able to work independently within multidisciplinary teams.
• Comfortable helping business teams clarify their real needs before solutions are defined.
