Strategic Buyer

To strengthen our organization, we are looking for a driven Strategic Buyer
- Substations Works to join a dynamic procurement team supporting high-voltage infrastructure projects across Belgium. In this role, you will be responsible for managing procurement activities related to works performed in high-voltage substations, ensuring the successful delivery of strategic projects while developing strong partnerships with contractors and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage the full procurement cycle, including tender publication, bid analysis, negotiations, supplier evaluation, and contract award.
• Lead and coordinate tendering processes for Substations Works projects.
• Define and implement sourcing and procurement strategies based on market intelligence and project requirements.
• Collaborate closely with project teams, engineers, and internal experts to understand business needs and align them with market capabilities.
• Develop in-depth expertise in the substations works category, including technical and market knowledge, and contribute to long-term category strategies.
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify business needs, improvement opportunities, and procurement efficiencies.
• Contribute actively to procurement objectives and strategic initiatives through market and category insights.
• Support internal stakeholders during contractual negotiations and provide guidance on commercial matters.
• Assist project teams and Contract Managers during project execution by monitoring contractual obligations, negotiating change orders and additional costs, and ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and schedule requirements.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with contractors in collaboration with Supplier Management teams.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support the implementation of new ways of working within the procurement organization.
• Exchange best practices and market insights with international counterparts and procurement colleagues.

Your Profile
• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, contract management, or a related field.
• Background in construction, engineering, infrastructure, energy, or another technical environment.
• Strong experience with tendering, negotiations, and supplier management.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a complex project environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong analytical and commercial mindset.
• Fluent in Dutch, French, and English.
