Internship in Project Management

Context Please note that an internship agreement from a Belgian or Dutch university is mandatory to be eligible for this internship. Within the Finance Integration team, this internship takes place in the context of a major change within the Bank, driven by a strategic project with high visibility. The intern will join a demanding, structured and highly formative environment, close to the operational and coordination challenges linked to transformation. This opportunity offers concrete exposure to project management in a banking environment while working in close proximity to an experienced Project Manager. The internship also provides real interaction with multiple stakeholders and meaningful involvement in the execution of a major project impacting the organization. Your position The intern will provide direct support to the operational management of the project and will work closely with the Project Manager on coordination, organization and follow-up activities. The role will involve supporting the preparation, structuring and circulation of information required for the smooth progress of the project, with a strong focus on quality of follow-up and respect of deadlines. In this context, the intern will contribute to coordination with internal stakeholders, consolidation of information received from the different teams, and preparation of instruction notes, presentations and project follow-up materials. The intern will also support the organization of discussions and meetings, the update of project tracking tools, the preparation of follow-up meetings, and the day-to-day administrative and operational support required to ensure the project moves forward efficiently. This position is particularly suited to a student who wants to develop practical project management experience, with a strong organizational dimension and regular interaction across teams. The internship offers the opportunity to be meaningfully involved in a major project for the Bank while benefiting from close day-to-day exposure to the Project Manager, creating a strong learning environment and a broad understanding of how a transformation project is delivered in practice.

Your profile
We are looking for a motivated, highly organized and detail-oriented intern with a strong interest in project management within a banking environment. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of academic knowledge, coordination skills, technical proficiency and a collaborative mindset to support our Finance Integration team in the context of a major transformation project. Master’s student, ideally in the final stage of studies, with an academic background in Management, Finance, Business Administration, Business Engineering, Economics, Project Management or a related field. A first internship or initial professional experience is considered an asset, but is not required. Good command of office tools, especially Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. Comfortable using Jira and interested in project management, action tracking and coordination tools. Ability to structure information, consolidate inputs from multiple stakeholders and produce clear, professional and well-organized materials. Strong organizational skills, rigor, attention to detail and reliability in deadline follow-up. Ability to interact with multiple stakeholders in a demanding environment. Proactive mindset, strong sense of priorities, good communication skills and willingness to learn through close exposure to a Project Manager. The candidate should also demonstrate discretion, professionalism and a collaborative spirit. Full-time availability, Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, for a minimum duration of 4 months starting in February. Internship based in Brussels at the Bank’s headquarters. Unpaid internship.
