Reporting to the Manager (Facilities Services), the appointee will oversee all aspects of facilities services on the Clear Water Bay campus and Off-site campuses and be required to:
• To assist the Manager (Facilities Services) in ensuring that all staff and contracts are effectively managed and that services are delivered and monitored to a high standard, aligned to the University's operating requirements and contribute to the development of the Directorate's overall direction and vision;
• To monitor external contracts and ensure performance targets are met and University's policies and procedures adhered to;
• To lead and empower all team members in the delivery of consistently high levels of customer service to students, staff and visitors;
• The post holder is required to support sustainability programmes and initiatives to minimize the social environmental and economic impacts of the University. Where the role can influence waste diversion and water use etc., the post holder will ensure that sustainability impacts are addressed;
• To be accountable for CMO/FS financial budgets under control including supporting the Manager (Facilities Services) with the annual budget planning, forecasting and spend management, ensuring all financial policies are strictly adhered to;
• Review, manage and arrange the renewal of related contracts according to University's procurement procedures and FM procurement & performance monitoring plans;
• To manage and lead the logistical and technical resources needed to support key strategic university events throughout the year. Work closely with various department in University to ensure annual events such as Congregation, Information Day, Alumni Day, Orientation Week, Exams are managed successfully and delivered safely;
• To support the upcoming new development projects either on-site or off-site as required and achieve related goals and deadlines;
• perform shift duties including working on Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays when necessary; and
• Perform any other ad hoc duties or special assignments assigned by Director of Campus Management Office and Head of Facilities Services. Qualifications Applicants should have:
• A recognised degree / higher diploma in Facility Management, Property Management or a related discipline;
• At least eight years of relevant experience in facilities management and event management preferably in tertiary institution or public organization;
• Professional qualification, e.g. CFM, RICS, HKIFM, HKIH or equivalent is required;
• He / she should be technically sound in terms of cleaning and pest control technologies and procedures and should stay abreast of best practices in housekeeping.
• Supervisory experience in leading a team of operational staff in collaboration with clients, service contractors and other stakeholders;
• He / she should be a self-starter with a strong sense of responsibility; be able to motivate and develop staff and contractors to maintain operational excellence;
• Excellent communication, supervisory and interpersonal skills; and
• Flexible in working irregular hours including weekends and public holidays. (Duration: 2 years) (Applicants who have responded to the previous advertisements need not re-apply.) Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.
