Kwu Tung North Construction Site Job Duties To be responsible to the Project Manager or its delegate(s) for the supervision of the soft landscape works, establishment works, aftercare of the Tree of Particular Interest and tree preservation works and carry out duties as prescribed. To monitor the standard of materials, workmanship of the landscape softworks, establishment works, protection and aftercare to the Tree of Particular Interest and tree works against the Client’s Requirements, the ArchSD General Specification and conformity with the relevant reference document such as BS or Code of Practice or other documents as specified by the Project Manager or its delegate(s), and provide comments to the Project Manager or its delegate(s). Check Contractor’s setting out of all landscape softworks and tree works. Monitor the progress of work on site against the accepted programme. Maintain proper record of the landscape softworks, Establishment Works, protection and aftercare to the Tree of Particular Interest and tree works, including activities on site and/or off site e.g. monthly tree report for the preserved trees and submit return as required to the Project Manager or his delegates. Assist and prepare return as required to the Project Manager or its delegate(s). Carry out routine inspection of the soft landscape works, Establishment Works, protection and aftercare to the Tree of Particular Interest and tree works, to ensure conformity with the Client’s Requirements, and report to the Project Manager or its delegate(s) any unsatisfactory work or activities that may have impact on the landscape and associated works. Attend site inspections for landscape works, progress meetings, site meetings and ad hoc meetings as required or instructed by the Project Manager or his delegate(s). Attend site audits and follow-up on the corrective actions on non-compliance. Liaised with Project Manager or its delegate(s) on site matters associated with Establishment Works, protection and aftercare to the Tree of Particular Interest and tree works Witness on-site and off-site tests required by Client’s Requirements, the Project Manager or its delegate(s) and record results in the site record book. Carry out inspection of defect and outstanding soft landscape works at the Completion of the works. Attend all pre-handover and handover inspections with relevant parties. Advise the Project Manager or its delegate(s) concerning the rectification of defect. Attend site audits and follow up the corrective action on non-compliance. Qualifications Possess a degree or diploma or higher certificate in an appropriate discipline e.g. horticulture management studies, natural science, botany, biology or appropriate related discipline from a Hong Kong recognized institution or university or equivalent; Have a qualification or certification offered by a professional institution or industry organisation accredited by the institution, such as Certified Arborist of International Society of Arboriculture, Professional Member or Fellow of the Arboricultural Association of the United Kingdom, European Tree Worker or European Tree Technician of the European Arboricultural Council or General Member of the National Arborists Association of Australia, or equivalent, subject to acceptance by the Project Manager; Have attained ‘Level 2’ or above in Chinese Language and English Language in Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (Note: ‘Grade E’ or above in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 2’); Have at least eight (8) years of relevant post-qualification experience in landscape project management, countryside/ flora/ vegetation/ tree/ wildlife survey, management and maintenance, or monitoring of Old and Valuable Trees (OVT) or tree(s) of particular interests and contract management. Within this period, at least seven (7) years are the relevant experience as a Field Officer II (FdO II) or equivalent in public works project; and Possess a valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card) and is required to carry out site, site meeting and site measurement periodically related to the project.
