About The Job Azure DevOps Platform Specialist A0923653 Senior Azure DevOps Specialist – Netherlands | DevSecOps & Azure DevOps We are looking for a Senior Azure DevOps Specialist to redesign and professionalize an existing Azure DevOps environment within a complex public-sector organization. The assignment focuses on moving from a fragmented, organically grown setup toward a secure-by-design, standardized and compliant DevOps platform where development teams can work autonomously within clear policies and guardrails.

Netherlands Role: Senior Azure DevOps Specialist Focus: Azure DevOps | DevSecOps | CI/CD | Governance | Security | Migration Your Mission You will work in a small team to analyze, redesign and implement improvements across the Azure DevOps landscape, including the complete migration of the existing Azure DevOps environment from one Azure subscription/environment to another.

Key Responsibilities
Analysis & Design Review the current Azure DevOps setup, including repositories, pipelines, agent pools and security Identify risks, bottlenecks and opportunities for standardization Design branching strategies and standardized pipeline templates Establish a governance model with clear policies and guardrails Define the approach for the Azure DevOps migration Governance & Policy as Code Define branch policies and pull request strategies Establish CI/CD standards and security/compliance controls Develop Policy as Code principles Create reusable blueprints focused on automation and enforceability Azure DevOps Implementation Configure branch policies, reviews and quality gates Develop centralized YAML pipeline templates and libraries Implement standardized CI/CD pipelines Configure access controls and secret management Improve consistency across repositories and development teams DevSecOps / Security Integration Integrate SAST and SCA tooling into CI/CD pipelines Implement automated security and compliance checks Establish quality gates, reporting and auditability Embed security into the development lifecycle through a shift-left approach Self-Hosted Agents & Automation Redesign and optimize Azure DevOps agent pools Standardize self-hosted agent configurations Automate agent image build and maintenance Improve reliability and manageability of the agent infrastructure Team Enablement Coach and support development and DevOps teams Introduce DevOps and security best practices Deliver technical workshops Provide documentation and knowledge transfer Support teams in adopting new standards and ways of working Expected Deliverables Azure DevOps governance framework Policies, guardrails and Policy-as-Code principles Standardized YAML CI/CD templates Pipelines with integrated security controls Automated agent image provisioning and management Migration of the Azure DevOps environment Documentation and team adoption approach Requirements Completed HBO ICT education or equivalent, e.g. Computer Science Valid Microsoft Azure DevOps certification – Level 3 At least 5 years of hands-on Azure DevOps experience, including setup and configuration in complex IT/IV environments At least 3 years supporting developers and DevOps teams with CI/CD At least 2 years translating policies into technical implementation Proven experience integrating security into Azure DevOps pipelines Practical experience with SAST / SCA security tooling Experience collaborating with Development, Security and Architecture stakeholders Nice to Have Experience coaching and enabling DevOps teams Experience working in complex (semi-)government environments Knowledge of Sonatype and/or Fortify Ideal Profile We're looking for a hands-on specialist with a strong DevOps and security mindset who can combine technical implementation with governance and stakeholder management.
