Company Description The Democracy Conference is a new initiative designed to give progressive politics the capacity and resources to match and exceed institutions on the Right. Through its flagship DemCon conferences, smaller Democracy Salons, and other events, the organization connects and unites the broad political left. It brings together political and cultural voices in shared spaces to encourage collaboration, strategy, and innovation. The Democracy Conference offers opportunities for emerging and experienced professionals to contribute to building stronger progressive networks and infrastructure. Role Description The Social Media Marketing Intern will support the planning, creation, and publishing of content across social media platforms to promote The Democracy Conference’s events and initiatives. Day-to-day tasks include drafting posts, designing basic visual content, monitoring social media channels, engaging with online communities, and assisting with campaign calendars. The intern will help track performance metrics, conduct light audience and platform research, and collaborate with the team to refine messaging and outreach strategies. This is a remote internship role, offering flexible collaboration with staff across locations and a chance to gain hands-on experience in mission-driven digital communications. Qualifications
• Candidates should possess skills in Social Media Marketing and Social Media Content Creation.
• Candidates should possess skills in Digital Marketing and Marketing.
• Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to learn new tools quickly and work with common social media and design platforms (e.g., Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, Canva or similar).
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to meet deadlines in a remote environment.
• Interest in progressive politics, democracy, and civic engagement, with a commitment to inclusive and respectful communication.
• Current student or recent graduate in Marketing, Communications, Political Science, Media Studies, or a related field is preferred but not required.
