Your responsibilities As a Junior Direct Purchasing Buyer, you will be embedded within the purchasing team of one of our key automotive clients in Belgium, contributing to the procurement of direct components as part of a new product launch project. Working closely with experienced buyers and cross-functional teams, you will develop your purchasing expertise in a structured and international environment. You will support end-to-end sourcing activities for direct components within your assigned commodity scope, including RFQ preparation, bid analysis and supplier follow-up. You will assist in supplier selection and qualification processes, coordinating with engineering, quality and logistics teams to ensure components meet technical and delivery requirements. You will track purchase orders and delivery schedules, monitor supplier commitments and escalate deviations when needed. You will also contribute to cost reduction initiatives and support the preparation of internal purchasing reports and presentations. This is a hands-on role where you will quickly gain exposure to real purchasing decisions in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Your profile
You hold a Bachelor or Master degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field. You have a first experience in direct purchasing or procurement through an internship, apprenticeship or junior position, ideally within the automotive, railway or aerospace industry. This experience is essential, candidates without any exposure to an industrial manufacturing environment will not be considered. You are analytical, well-organized and comfortable working in a cross-functional environment with multiple stakeholders. You communicate fluently in English, which is the working language of the team. Knowledge of SAP or another ERP system is a plus. Location:
Zaventem, Belgium. Hybrid working model with 2 to 3 days remote per week. Mission duration of minimum 2 years. Start as soon as possible.
