Liège, Wallonia, Belgique AMOS Temps plein
Located in Liège, AMOS (Advanced Mechanical & Optical Systems) is a company specialized in the development of ultra-high opto-mechanical systems, mostly dedicated to space industry and professional astronomy. AMOS is now part of the Aerospacelab group, a Belgian satellite manufacturer. Within the group, AMOS develops the Very High Resolution (VHR) optical payloads of Earth observation satellites, from the telescope to the focal plane. Since 1983, AMOS has been a recognized player around the world. AMOS works with prestigious international clients and partners. More than 100 passionate employees put their expertise at the service of the development of innovative solutions, while respecting the values of the company:
• Team spirit, to unite individual strengths and assets to achieve collective success;
• Excellence, through the commitment and quality of everyone's work;
• Respect, through recognition by listening, openness and consideration, whether colleague, partner, or client. In order to strengthen its teams, AMOS is looking for a "Senior Opto-Mechanical Engineer" (M/F).

Key Responsibilities
• Understand and analyse the opto-mechanical requirements. Ensure they are met along the design.
• Design the opto-mechanical assemblies: mirror mounts and flexures, metering structures, focal plane interfaces, baffles, mechanisms.
• Size and select the materials and the components: mirror substrates (SiC, Zerodur, ULE), CFRP and Invar structures, bearings, bonded joints, fasteners.
• Justify the design against launch loads, thermal gradients and gravity release. Support the STOP analyses.
• Define the alignment and adjustment concept. Specify the integration tooling and the metrology means.
• Draft the specifications and follow up the subcontractors.
• Follow up the manufacturing of the critical parts: lightweighting, bonding, coating.
• Take charge of the integration, alignment and validation of the opto-mechanical part. Support the environmental test campaigns (vibration, thermal vacuum).
• Contribute to the modular VHR product line: reusable opto-mechanical building blocks.
• Review the designs of the junior engineers. Share the design rules.
• Produce the required technical documentation. Role
• You are part of the Mechanical Design division of AMOS and you are assigned to the VHR payload team. You work on the Very High Resolution optical payloads developed by AMOS.
• You are responsible for the design, the manufacturing follow-up and the AIV of the opto-mechanical part of the payload.
• As a senior, you are the opto-mechanical reference of the VHR team. You work closely with the Optical Payload Architect and with the other team members. Requirements
• Master's degree in Electromechanical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent, with at least 8 years' experience in opto-mechanical or precision mechanical design.
• Experience in the space field is required. Experience on optical instruments or VHR payloads is a strong asset.
• You know how a mount, a material or a thermal gradient turns into wavefront error and line-of-sight drift.
• Knowledge of CAD software, ideally CATIA V5 or Nx.
• Familiar with FEM (Nastran or SAMCEF solvers in SIMCENTER environment).
• Familiar with precision metrology (interferometry, CMM, laser tracker) and with clean room practice.
• Familiar with ECSS standards.
• Be creative, know how to take initiative
• Ability to work in a team, communicate well and defend technological choices
• Able to review the work of others and to grow junior engineers
