Brussels, Belgium 💼 Role: Expert IT Project Manager 📄 Contract Type: Freelance / Extra-Muros 📅 Initial Contract: Until 31 December 2026 🔄 Extension: Possible in 3-month periods 🕒 Workload: Full-time 🏢 Work Model: Hybrid – Minimum 2 days onsite per week, up to 3 days remote
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives within a Platform Engineering environment. You will coordinate multidisciplinary technical teams, service owners, architects, and management to ensure strategic alignment, effective delivery, and clear reporting across multiple projects and programmes.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead complex cross-platform projects and strategic programmes.
• Coordinate dependencies, stakeholders, actions, risks, and decisions.
• Track project schedules, milestones, and roadmaps.
• Prepare progress reports and management updates.
• Facilitate communication between technical teams and internal clients.
• Support platform security initiatives and Public Cloud adoption.
• Coordinate CI/CD programme delivery and modern software engineering practices.
• Improve developer autonomy while maintaining governance and technical standards.
• Contribute to platform service portfolio management and prioritisation. Required Skills & Experience✅ Proven experience managing complex IT projects or cross-functional programmes. ✅ Experience coordinating multidisciplinary technical teams. ✅ General understanding of Cloud, Platform Engineering, DevOps, and IT infrastructure. ✅ Strong stakeholder management, communication, planning, and prioritisation skills. ✅ Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. ✅ Knowledge of Jira and Confluence. ✅ Knowledge of ITIL and PRINCE2. ✅ Fluent in French or Dutch, with active knowledge of the other national language. ✅ Autonomous, proactive, structured, and results-oriented.
