Senior Building Services Inspector

China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited (“the Company” or “China State Hong Kong”) started its construction business in Hong Kong in 1979. The Company engages in building construction and civil engineering works. China State Hong Kong is among the largest construction contractors in Hong Kong, and is approved by the Works Bureau, to be on the List of Approved Contractors (Group C) for Public Works in the five major categories of building and civil engineering works, namely, “Buildings”, “Port Works”, “Roads and Drainage”, “Site Formation” and “Waterworks”. Job Duties Lead BSI, ABSI & BS Works Supervisor team; oversee full E&M, fire, HVAC, drainage, ELV & lift supervision; conduct regular factory visits to inspect MiMEP prefabricated modules & witness factory T&C tests. Execute full Contractor BS Inspector duties in compliance with Client’s Requirements, ArchSD General Specification & Site Administration Handbook (SAH). Vet all BS equipment, ductwork, pipework, cable & fire service samples & manufacturer certificates; cross-check all delivered BS materials against approved samples. Attend & witness all statutory & functional BS tests: hydrostatic, air tightness, sprinkler test, full system commissioning & MiMEP watertight / earth leakage test; maintain dedicated BS site record book. Daily inspection of concealed services, plant rooms & rooftop equipment; identify drawing clashes & installation defects, follow sub-contractor rectification till acceptance. Verify daily registered electrical & plumbing workers; monitor BS safety & confined space works; attend weekly safety walk & safety committee meetings. Compile concealed service logs, monthly progress reports, snag lists & commissioning records; coordinate pre-handover BS acceptance & defects liability follow-up. Oversee off-site MiMEP factory QA; inspect pre-installed pipe, cable & duct joints inside modules, witness full factory BS tests & retain factory audit records. Liaise with Resident Building Services Engineer (RBSE), BS sub-contractors, utility companies & statutory departments to resolve all service interface clashes. Manage full BS inspection files, test certificates & sample records; collate all supervision documents for PM handover upon completion. Qualifications Diploma / Higher Certificate in Building Services / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering from HK Polytechnic / IVE or equivalent recognised qualification. Level 2 or above for Chinese & English in HKDSE / HKCEE; Pre-2007 HKCEE Syllabus Grade E accepted as equivalent. Minimum 10 years relevant BS site experience, including minimum 6 years post-qualification experience as Building Services Inspector. Must hold 4 mandatory safety training certificates: (1) Occupational Safety & Health Management Course (2) Basic Accident Prevention Course (3) Construction Industry Green Safety Card (4) Confined Space Certified Worker Training Certificate Experience in MiMEP factory inspection & large public housing BS projects is highly preferred. Fluent Cantonese, competent bilingual written & spoken English for independent BS technical & test report writing. Available for BS test overtime, night hydrostatic test & regular overseas MiC factory visits.
