Be the face of a building that feels like a community.
Wanaka Partners turns underperforming real estate into places that work commercially, socially, and sustainably. At Zuiderpoort in Ghent, you bring our Social Activation and Wellbeing plan to life as the on-site Community Manager: the person tenants know by name.
At a glance
Join us from January 2027 (December 2026 is possible) as the Community Manager at Zuiderpoort in Ghent, on freelance basis. You will be on site for about 8-10 hours a week, with a flexible schedule built around events, which usually take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Day to day you will work in Dutch and English, reporting to our Head of sustainability and collaborating closely with the Asset Manager. Your hourly rate is agreed together.
Your responsibilities
• Welcome and connect: be the visible point of contact for tenants, users and visitors.
• Run the programme: organise and host the events and initiatives of the approved Social Activation and Wellbeing plan, working with caterers, event organisers and local partners within budget.
• Communicate: write newsletters, social media and website content, and gather feedback in person and through surveys.
• Track and share: record activities, participation and feedback, support social KPI reporting, and pass insights to the Head of Sustainability and Asset Manager. What makes this role exciting?
• A hands-on role shaping the community at Zuiderpoort, with real room to bring your own ideas and creativity.
• A proven methodology and support from the Head of Sustainability, with a programme that improves every year.
• A professional, ambitious team combining building management, sustainability and social activation. What we're looking for
• Self-employed, fluent in Dutch and English.
• Experienced in community management, hospitality, events, workplace experience or a similar people-facing communication role.
• Organised, reliable and approachable, ideally with experience in newsletters and social media.
• Able to commit 8-10 on-site hours per week.
• Your real edge: you know Ghent and the Zuiderpoort neighbourhood like the back of your hand, and you bring a ready-made network of caterers, event organisers and local initiatives who can make events happen from day one.
