We’re looking for a Project Manager to join our client’s team and lead IT projects within a complex, highly regulated operational environment. You’ll act as the link between business stakeholders and delivery teams, coordinating multidisciplinary Agile teams and ensuring that digital solutions are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and in line with applicable interoperability and business requirements. This is a hands-on role combining project coordination, stakeholder management, delivery oversight, and functional understanding.
Role & Responsibilities
• Act as the primary interface between business stakeholders and IT delivery teams.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary Agile teams including business analysts, architects, developers, and testers.
• Manage project scope, planning, budget, risks, dependencies, resources, and delivery commitments.
• Coordinate the implementation of digital solutions involving complex processes, systems, and data exchanges.
• Organize workshops to gather and clarify business requirements and translate them into actionable solution roadmaps.
• Structure and prioritize project backlogs in collaboration with business stakeholders.
• Coordinate sprint planning, releases, deployments, and other key delivery activities.
• Monitor project progress and proactively manage risks, issues, changes, and dependencies.
• Prepare project reporting and contribute to steering committees and senior management meetings.
• Support project governance, including follow-up of decisions, actions, suppliers, resources, and budgets.
• Ensure project documentation is complete, accurate, and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
• Work effectively with internal teams, operational stakeholders, suppliers, and external partners in a complex environment. Ideal Candidate You have a solid foundation in IT project delivery, combined with previous experience as a Functional Analyst or in a similar role. You are comfortable working between business and technical teams and have experience coordinating activities across multiple stakeholders. Experience in the railway sector is highly relevant, but candidates from comparable operational environments such as aviation, ports, logistics, or utilities may also be considered. You bring a structured and pragmatic approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to keep projects moving in a dynamic environment. Required Expertise
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 1 year of professional experience in Project Management.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working on IT projects as a Functional Analyst.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in the railway sector or a comparable operational environment.
• Experience coordinating IT projects, including planning, delivery follow-up, and activity coordination.
• Experience with project governance, reporting, steering committees, and action tracking.
• Experience monitoring budgets, resources, suppliers, risks, changes, and cross-team dependencies.
• Knowledge of railway interoperability, system integration, complex data-exchange environments, or comparable technologies is an advantage.
• Experience working with multiple business, IT, operational, supplier, and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of TSI Telematics or comparable interoperability and data-exchange frameworks is a strong asset.
• Fluency in Dutch or French at minimum C1 level.
• Professional working proficiency in English at minimum B2 level.
