Remote – Global About the Opportunity We are seeking experienced Backend Software Engineers to support an AI training project by creating challenging coding tasks and evaluating AI-generated solutions. You’ll use your software engineering expertise to develop realistic problems involving feature implementation, bug fixing, and code quality. No prior AI experience is required — your backend engineering expertise is what matters.
Key Responsibilities
• Create realistic, challenging coding tasks involving feature implementation and bug fixes.
• Develop deterministic testers and verifiers that accept valid solutions and reject incorrect ones.
• Build and evaluate tasks based on real-world backend engineering workflows.
• Debug software issues and optimize performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Review code for correctness, maintainability, and quality.
• Assess solutions using automated tests and objective evaluation criteria. Required Qualifications
• Strong backend development experience in Java, Node.js, Go, Rust, TypeScript, Python, C++, or similar languages.
• Experience building scalable services and APIs.
• Proficiency in debugging, performance optimization, and automated testing.
• Strong code review and software quality assessment skills.
• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and computer science fundamentals.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills. Preferred Qualifications
• Proven experience delivering high-quality, performant backend applications.
• Experience identifying and resolving software bugs and system bottlenecks.
• Experience refactoring codebases and implementing complex features in large-scale applications.
• Ability to create reliable, objective tests for evaluating software solutions. Compensation
• $30–$100/hour, with output-based payment for tasks that meet project specifications.
• Independent contractor engagement.
• Approximately 15 hours per week.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends if desired.
• Minimum submission requirements apply, including a minimum number of tasks per week.
• Approximately 100 openings available. Application Process
