Head of Business Operations

Brussels, Brussels-Capital, Belgique OP Investment Management Télétravail Temps partiel 600 HKD CDI
A boutique investment fund is hiring an experienced, self-directed manager to run its business operations part-time — everything except investing, fund operations, and compliance. This is not an office-management, admin-support, bookkeeping, or fund-operations role. About two-thirds of the work is novel problems with no playbook. If executing established processes is your only strength, this is the wrong role. It is an ownership role: you solve problems independently and see them through, rather than passing them along. You should genuinely enjoy difficult problems and also have the patience for process work, done with strong attention to detail, because a problem isn't solved until the last form is filed correctly. Most people are good at one or the other; this role needs both. What you'll own
• One-off projects. Own ad-hoc problems end to end — e.g. a cross-border contractor engagement or a provider switch — researching options, weighing risks, and executing.
• Investor administration. Onboarding and KYC with the administrator, chasing documents, tracking subscriptions, and investor tax and statement queries.
• Fund governance. Board materials, board and audit cycles, and coordination with auditors, administrator, and directors.
• Day-to-day operations. The usual running of the business, e.g. banking and payments, keeping the HK, Cayman, and BVI entities in good standing, and managing service providers and expenses. Who we're looking for
• Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking — this is the core of the job, not a nice-to-have. You reason from first principles through problems you've never seen.
• A solid grasp of basic accounting concepts, and good with numbers
• At least 10 years of work experience, including at least 4 years with one employer
• Some financial-industry experience, enough to be fluent in the basics of how funds work
• Genuine fluency with AI — you use it to work through unfamiliar problems and can tell when it's wrong
• Strong written and spoken English
• Legally allowed to work in, and based in, Hong Kong Terms Part-time, contract basis, flexible hours, remote within Hong Kong with in-person tasks as needed. HK$600 per hour. Workload is variable. Most work is not urgent; replying within 36 hours is generally enough.
