Job opening for a Master’s in engineering with curiosity about the business side of semiconductors.
Sofics is seeking a business development manager to own our BD funnel end to end, from finding the right customers to closing the deal, growing over time into ownership of a regional market.
Our strategy is to focus on unique recurring value creation with IC design solutions.
We are an IP provider.
Role
This isn’t a support role or a shadowing position. You’ll own a real piece of our business development funnel, end to end. That means finding the right companies, getting in front of the right people, and driving opportunities all the way from first contact to signed deal.
Over time, you’ll grow into ownership of one or more regional markets: China, Korea, Europe, the UK. The path is there, and we’ll help you grow into it.
Description
Hunt for new customers: identify companies whose roadmaps are a fit for our IP, and go open those doors
Work inbound and outbound: follow up on leads, manage your pipeline, prepare proposals, close deals
Build a network across foundries, partners, agents, and industry associations
Represent Sofics at tradeshows and customer meetings worldwide
Stay close to existing customers: license activation, repeat business, and understanding what they need next
Feed what you learn in the market back into our roadmap and strategy
Profile
A Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
Real curiosity about the business side of semiconductors
The ability to translate technical value into messaging that lands with engineers and executives alike
A proactive mindset: you follow up, you follow through, you own your pipeline
Confidence in front of customers, partners, and senior stakeholders
Fluent English
Bonus if you have experience with analog IP, ESD, interface standards, or the foundry ecosystem — or prior exposure to BD, sales, or customer-facing engineering roles.
Offer
A high-impact role at an established, globally trusted semiconductor IP company
Mentorship and on-the-job training with a clear growth path toward regional market ownership
International exposure: customers, foundries, partners, and events across Asia, North America, and Europe
A small team where your work is visible, your voice is heard, and your impact is real
A culture that takes wellbeing seriously, with the flexibility to work from home several days a week
