IT Functional Analyst
Location:
Brussels Centre (Hybrid: 2 days/week on-site, 3 days teleworking) Expected Start Date: ASAP Duration: 12 months (Extension possible depending on project evolution) Department / Context: Information Systems / Software Development Education Required: Professional Bachelor or Master in Engineering, Computer Sciences, or Sciences 1. Context of the Mission & Objectives The Information Systems (IS) department is responsible for delivering a challenging business roadmap over the coming years. As part of a dynamic IT department of around 100 people with end-to-end (E2E) responsibilities, you will contribute to software developments for key insurance-related applications. The application landscape is developed based on a Microfocus mainframe emulator in Windows (Cobol / Mix Cobol + .
NET), with various technologies used across front-end (.
NET, CRM), printing, integration, and communication layers. As an IT Functional Analyst , you will be responsible for translating business requirements into structured IT solutions while maintaining a functional approach and adhering to organizational standards. 2.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate business requirements into structured functional designs and assist in tailoring them into technical designs.
- Prepare functional integration test cases based on business specifications.
- Test applications prior to delivery to end-users and analyze potential corrective actions needed.
- Coordinate technical designers and programmers throughout the implementation of functionalities.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to ensure delivered solutions match operational needs.
- Actively support Project Leaders in overall project implementation and report regularly on progress. 3. Required Knowledge & Experience Mandatory Criteria (Exclusion Criteria if Minimum Level is Not Met)
- Domain
Experience:
Mid-level (2–5 years) of business experience in Non-Life underwriting insurance .
- Functional
Experience:
Mid-level (2–5 years) of significant experience as an IT Functional Analyst in direct contact with business stakeholders, ideally in a large company.
- Technical
Experience:
Hands-on experience working with multi-layer applications . Preferable Qualifications
- Experience in Non-Life claims insurance.
- Experience with Document Management systems.
- Knowledge of SQL.
- Familiarity with project leading principles/experience (Prince2 methodology).
- Knowledge of test management principles (TMAP).
- Knowledge of technical analysis principles. 4. Personal Skills (Soft Skills)
- Mandatory:

- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
- Good communication and active listening skills
- Result-oriented with attention to quality and details
