Brussels, Belgium Start Date: 9 November 2026 Duration: Until 9 November 2028 Work Regime: Full-time On-site: Minimum 2 days per week, with additional on-site presence when required by project or operational needs Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Team Lead Testing to lead and coordinate a testing team responsible for planning and executing SAT, functional, sanity, regression and release-related testing. The Team Lead will act as a key point of contact between test coordinators, test managers, analysts and testing resources. The role combines test coordination, team leadership, coaching, planning, reporting and quality management . Testing is performed primarily using a Waterfall methodology , with Agile/Scrum practices being progressively introduced.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, coordinate and coach a small to medium-sized testing team.
- Act as a central point of contact for test coordinators and test management.
- Ensure optimal team performance, knowledge sharing and resource allocation.
- Coordinate test planning and ensure required test resources are available.
- Define and maintain clear test scope, test scenarios and test strategies.
- Monitor testing progress, quality, risks and defects.
- Report test activities, progress, risks and quality status to test management and stakeholders.
- Identify knowledge gaps and performance issues and take appropriate mitigating actions.
- Ensure the right resources are assigned to the right testing activities.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and enable team members to work across different testing areas.
- Work closely with test coordinators and stakeholders to ensure product quality throughout the lifecycle.
- Support first-line analysis and follow-up of defects during major releases.
- Coordinate testing activities across distributed teams and stakeholders.
- Execute and coordinate functional, sanity and regression testing.
- Support ad hoc testing requests from analysts.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders in Dutch, French and/or English as required. Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 8 years of experience as a functional tester.
- Minimum 8 years of experience as a Team Lead in a testing environment, responsible for guiding and steering small to medium-sized teams.
- Minimum 8 years of experience coordinating distributed and complex teams, including members reporting to different stakeholders and/or working across different locations.
- Minimum 6 years of proven experience as a people manager and coach.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Test Coordinator.
- Proven experience writing test strategies and preparing test scenarios.
- Strong knowledge of formal test methods and techniques.
- Proven experience reporting testing activities and progress to test managers.
- Proven experience with SQL, including writing and executing queries.
- Experience with SOAP/UI, XML and SQL.
- Strong experience with Waterfall testing methodology.
- Experience within the Belgian energy sector.
- Experience with at least one of the following business processes:
- Structure
- Measure
- Cross-domain processes
- Billing
- Infeed
- Settlement
- Ability to read and understand Technical Design Documents, including logical conditions such as if/then/else.
- Proven ISTQB certification, Foundation level or higher.
- English proficiency at CEFR C1 minimum.
- Dutch or French proficiency at CEFR C1 minimum.
- Experience as a tester in an Agile/Scrum project.
- Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies in a testing environment.
- Experience with DevOps and VBScript.
- Experience with test automation. Testing Scope The testing team will work across multiple service domains, including:
- Message Exchange (MeX)
- Structure, Rectification, Measure and Billing
- Batch Treatment
- Infeed and Settlement
- Infrastructure changes, including upgrades, purging, configuration and connectivity changes The role focuses on manual functional testing, sanity testing, regression testing, defect logging and follow-up, and release support . Pure technical testing, security testing, failover testing and execution of automated tests are outside the core scope. Working Environment
- Primarily Waterfall-based testing, with increasing adoption of Agile/Scrum.
- Collaboration with analysts, test management, vendors and distributed teams.
- Minimum 2 days per week on-site in Brussels, with flexibility for additional on-site presence when required.
- Occasional travel to other offices or third-party locations may be required.
- Candidate must provide their own laptop with up-to-date security software.

Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a senior testing professional and experienced people leader who combines strong hands-on functional testing expertise with proven experience coordinating complex testing teams. They should be comfortable working across business and technical stakeholders, managing priorities, identifying risks and ensuring high-quality delivery.
