Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Storage Engineer to manage and optimize storage operations within a z/OS environment, ensuring high availability, data integrity, performance, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain IBM DS8000 storage systems.
- Ensure high availability and reliable storage operations.
- Design and implement backup and recovery strategies using GDPS.
- Plan for future storage capacity and performance requirements.
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with security protocols.
- Collaborate with Mainframe teams and cross-functional IT stakeholders.
- Support the ongoing optimization and reliability of the storage environment.
Required Experience & Skills
- 8–10 years of relevant experience.
- Strong experience working with Mainframe storage environments.
- Experience with IBM DS8000 storage systems.
- Knowledge of z/OS environments.
- Experience with GDPS backup and recovery strategies.
- Strong understanding of storage availability, capacity, performance, and data integrity.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience migrating storage infrastructure.
- Knowledge of REXX or Python scripting.
