Context
Within a large European group operating in the electricity transmission network sector, at the heart of the Belgian, German and broader European energy landscape, the assignment sits within the IT-TI Data & App Support department, specifically the Data and Application Support team.
The team manages the deployment of in-house developed applications into Acceptance and Production, as well as certain shared applications and support middleware.
The context involves an application infrastructure that is critical to the reliability and sustainability of the electricity supply, where the candidate will work alongside other Contingent Workers and internal employees.

Missions

  • Support day-to-day operational tasks

    • Deploy and update in-house developed applications in the Acceptance and Production environments

    • Work primarily on Windows IIS and SQL environments

  • Contribute to application server architecture

    • Analyze requirements

    • Assist with design

    • Install and deploy applications in Acceptance and Production

  • Contribute to continuity and recovery plans

    • Validate the technical and infrastructure sections of DRP and BCP documents

    • Participate in plan execution

  • Serve as the interface with clients

    • Work primarily with IT clients

  • Perform second-level troubleshooting

    • Handle application incidents and problems

  • Configure F5 load balancing VIPs for web applications

  • Support implementations on core applications and shared technologies

    • RabbitMQ

    • Redis Cache

    • Other shared technologies

  • Ensure optimal 2nd/3rd-level support

    • Interface with Microsoft and other third parties

  • Keep operational and installation documentation up to date

  • Participate in the on-call rotation

    • 24/7 standby

    • 1 week out of every 6

Working Conditions

  • Assignment location: Brussels.

  • On-site presence required by default 2 days per week.

  • 24/7 on-call rotation, 1 week out of every 6.

Requirements

Candidate Profile

  1. Proven recent experience with Linux RedHat

  2. Recent expert-level experience with Windows Server (2012-2022)

  3. Skills in managing application deployment on Linux and Windows servers

  4. Understanding of network load balancing concepts

  5. Validation and execution of DRP and BCP plans

  6. Management of operational and installation documentation

  7. Proficiency with tools: Linux RedHat, Windows Server (2012-2022), IIS management, PowerShell, MS-SQL, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, NEO4J, Redis Cache, F5 load balancing VIPs, Microsoft SQL Server, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines

  8. Soft skills: Team player, autonomous, analytical mindset for troubleshooting, pragmatic approach, client orientation, willingness to learn new products or technologies

  9. Fluent English (spoken, reading and writing)

  10. Fluent French or fluent Dutch (spoken, reading and writing)

  11. German is a plus

  12. Driving license and car required
