Our client, a major organization in the public safety sector, is looking for an experienced professional to lead the development of specialized software applications. The role involves guiding a technical team through complex architectural challenges while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions.
- Lead the technical direction and coordination of a specialized development team.
- Design complex systems with a focus on scalability, security, and performance.
- Build and maintain robust backend services using Python and Django .
- Develop modern frontend interfaces using React .
- Establish coding standards and perform code reviews to ensure technical excellence.
- Translate business requirements into technical implementations in an Agile environment.
- Manage deployments and automation using Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
- 8+ years of experience in software architecture and system design .
- 8+ years of experience in backend development using Python and Django .
- 8+ years of experience in frontend development with React , HTML , CSS , and JavaScript .
- 8+ years of experience with Docker , Docker Compose , and CI/CD processes.
- 8+ years of experience in data-driven application development with SQL and pandas .
- Possess extensive knowledge of API development including REST , SOAP , and GraphQL .
- You have expertise in version control using Git , GitHub , and GitLab .
- You are proactive and solution-oriented with strong communication skills.
- You are fluent in English with active knowledge of Dutch or French .

- Willingness to obtain a security clearance.
- Passive knowledge of both Dutch and French .
- Start date: 01/11/2026
- Duration: 2 months plus extension
- Work regime: Full-time
- Location: Brussels
- Working model: Hybrid (2 days onsite on Tuesday and Thursday)
- Contract: Open to both permanent employees and freelancers
